Definitely add me to this club, basically for all the same reasons as you guys have said already.  He works hard, his offense is improved, and I love when they interview him.  I think he is funny, insightful, and a straight shooter.


In 2007 KG was the heart, soul, AND anchor of our defense.  Last year's playoffs and the beginning of this year show that he is probably still the heart and soul, but I would argue that Perk is now the anchor.  In my opinion he is a better shot blocker than KG and I think is a step quicker on the defensive end than KG after the knee surgery.  Either way they still work great together and make a great defensive frontcourt.

I am a charter member of the Perk fan club. Perk is my favorite player and has been since his rookie season.  Back in his rookie year when I saw how hard he worked on his body and how hard he worked with no playing time, I knew this kid was special.  I remember saying way back then that Perk was going to be a top center in this league and having people on this very board tell me that I was crazy.   I remember people saying that we needed to trade Perk for a better center and that he would never be more than a back up on a good team.
Perk has a work ethic second to none and the makes him special.  He gives 110% every game and every practice and won't accept less than that from his teammates.  Perk also has a very high BB IQ.  Doc has said that Perk knows every position on the team and he knows where every player is supposed to be on every play. 
Perk has improved every year and will continue to improve because he works too hard not to. And, we forget how young he is.  He just turned 25 so he has lots more years to improve.  He is a warrior.  He is a beast.  He is the anchor and conscience of this team.  I love Perk!!!

Perk is awesome. You know you can count on him to be himself. He pretty much does everything well that he's asked to do and is so smart. It's so much fun watching him grow too. The only thing I wish he would put more effort in is playing with more speed to match his effort on the defensive end... inbounding the ball faster, getting up the court faster, being more quick to pass. I hope those things will come, because he brings so much energy to the table!

I'm sure most of you saw Perk's interview after the game.  The very first thing out of the guy's mouth was DEFENSE.  I forget who was interviewing him but he went on and on and all Perk could think about was defense.  Absolutely love it.

I have a question though.

Has anyone ever seen Perk flush an alley-oop? Or a rebound without coming down with it? Has anyone even seen him ever tip in a rebound?

I find it odd that I can remember him doing any of these things. Maybe my memory is at fault.

i believe your memory is fine. i have liked perk since he arrived with the celtics, but i have never deluded myself condcerning his offensive abilities.

he has worked very hard to improve his shooting. but he does not have a natural touch around the basket or great athleticism.

alley oops, tip ins, etc. just arent how he scores.

it would be nice, but that is not perk's game.

I was seriously ready to trade Perk two years ago, but I LOVE the guy now, and love how he's worked hard on his game. Like Bass said, if he got a jump-hook going, he'd be unstoppable.

Amen.  I became a fan during his rookie season when he got in trouble for going into a game against the Bulls and roughing them up.  He said later [paraphrase] that he felt it was his responsibility to make sure the Bulls respected his team and his teammates.  That game and that comment sold me on Perk for good, though I'll admit to be being pleasantly surprised at just how much he has improved since then.
