I just looked at the box score and am shocked. He had only 4 turnovers?!?

I can't recall seeing a point guard throwing more bad passes in one game. At one point I started to wonder whether he was intentionally throwing the game.

Yeah, he played so badly that he almost had a triple-double.

Come on.  A few bad passes aside, the fact that he was 'Good Rondo' in the second half won us the game.

I like Rondo, but it also must be pointed out that he maintained his 25 percent free throw shooting going 1-4 tonight. Houston, we have a big problem here.

Offensively and on the boards....grea, third period, maybe the best offensive sequence of the year for him.

Defensively....maybe his worse game of the year with constant blow bys from his opponent, playing flat footed, playing soft on the perimeter, waving at the ball for steals allowing the guy by him, allowing the guy by him on purpose for a reach behind, not running guys off the three point line, no pressure on the ball after crossing half court, and wandering too far from his man looking for the passing lane steal, slow on switches and rotations. Just a horrific defensive game for Rondo.

Yeah, and I didn't even mention this gem. His free throw shooting. TP. Thanks for reminding me.

I know he had more than 4 turnovers.  Makes you wonder who the lucky players were who got the credit for them.

Now that I think about it, at least some of the bad passes probably didn't generate a turnover - they just ruined the play because the pass was at the receiver's feet. But still, his stat line far overstates the quality of the game he played - esp. when you consider his matador-like defense.

Rondo double double-Check
We win by 14-Check

I see no reason to complain. Way to go Rondo nearly had a triple double

According to ESPN "Celtics win behind Rondo"!

Can see there is some reason for concern. Does not seem universal; but I admire the fact that we maintain a higher standard from our players especially on the defensive end. This is a large part of the disagreement between Rondo and Doc and clearly has not gone away.

Yeah Rondo sucks, lets trade him.... I suppose you guys read his statline 1-4 FT, 4 turnovers (7-8 turnovers according to some of you guys), and than some stupid stats like 7-10 FG, 18 pts, 12 assists, 7 rebounds. Chill out people.

I thought his defense was very poor on a few plays: they just happened to come during a 3-4 minute time span. Other than that, I thought he was THE reason that we pulled away from them.

Rondo's a key reason why we won tonight. The free throws will come. Solid game from him.

Defense still lapses from time to time, but that will come with more effort on that end.

Despite his stats, his overall game tonight left a lot to be desired.  However, this was a bad defensive team we played and Rondo exposed this fact as well as anybody.

His defense is what needs to improve.  It keeps being pointed out on this blog because it is obvious.  How many times tonight did we see a blow by of Rondo followed by Perk having to try and follow a quick guard to the basket only to allow a layup?

I agree with those that say his FT shooting will get better, but it will never be great.  He just needs to keep attacking and not be afraid to fail at the line.  Getting the other team's guys in foul trouble is reason enough that we need this from him.

This guy is in his 4th NBA season and just signed a 5-year, $55 million contract extension. Yet, I am reading that his defense will improve as will his free throw shooting. Now I agree that he was a key part of the win tonight, but for $55 million he has to bring the whole package and bring it most nights. Why, in his fourth season, are we still waiting for his defense to come and for his free throw shooting to improve?

Hard to believe, but I just read that Rondo was one missed free throw away from tying the record for most missed consecutive free throws of 11 set by none other than Chris Dudley.

His defense has been pretty solid this year and it's not unusual for a player's ft shooting to improve after his 4th or 5th year.
