Why don't you quote Bill Russell after the 1969 Finals while you're at it.
See if you can put that one on a computer.

Sorry, this is the best I could do for you.

Wow, I have no idea what is going on in this thread. But the post below is a good one. I don't know why anyone would care about this topic, and frankly, I think some very nice people are trying to accomplish the impossible. That which is irrational cannot be rationalized. Better to let it run, unchecked and unheeded, than to try and corral it. There is no way to stem a tidal wave of pure, unadulterated illogicality and craziness.

...

.....

.......

WHO CARES?!

Look.  That's not a very constructive comment, I know.  Allow me to elaborate with a wall of text.  In the four pages of this thread, I didn't read one thing that mattered.  You asked whether the Celtics' point differential was close to... hold on, let me back up.  You asserted that the Celtics' point differential was a record, or close to it, through the first 10 games.  You then proceeded to backpedal when it was proven that you weren't anywhere close to the truth - now the story is that you were asking people to check whether your information is correct or not.

Now the onus is on us to prove that, in every game played in the NBA, there was never a 5-minute-38-second period of time where a team was called for more fouls than we were.  Yeah.  Have fun researching that particular claim, because I don't think you'll find anybody willing to help you without getting paid.  I think of myself as a nice guy, but I'm not that nice.

Also, you're stating that LeBron doesn't foul much.  Tell me something I don't know.  He's a superstar, and gets superstar treatment.  MJ got away with fouls, Kobe gets away with fouls, LeBron gets away with fouls.  He got away with even more than usual during that time period - or maybe he just didn't foul much during that period.  Probably a mix of both.

So what is your point?  There has to be a point somewhere, otherwise you just posted a bunch of obscure statistics and let everybody else sit and scratch their heads.  Is it that the Celtics got screwed during that 6-minute stretch?  You don't need obscure stats to get people to agree with that.  Is it that LeBron gets superstar treatment?  You don't need obscure stats to get every fan of the league - with the possible exception of Cavs fans - to agree with you there.  Are you trying to suggest that there was some conspiracy to keep the Celtics away from the 'record' of 'best point differential through 10 games'?  Look... every team in the league thinks they get screwed by the refs, and they're all wrong.  Donaghy aside, the refs just happen to suck sometimes and aren't actually crooked.

So, in the end, you made up obscure 'records' as proof of an anti-Celtic conspiracy by the league and its' refs.

Who cares?

Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

I've never had so much fun on a thread with no example whatsoever to anything contrary to what I've posted.   Thank you so much everyone.

I've already got a better way to make the NBA anyway.  Grab a whistle, make a sound, and point to the guys in Green.   NBA will love me, I'll be drafted #1.

So what exactly is the explanation for it?
The explanations is obvious.

Lebron idolized Jordan. Even a fool would know that. Why do you think he chose #23 for his jersey? He is also too young to have seen Russell play.

The Celtics got call for 10 in a row because they play aggressive, physical defense, are prone to moving picks, and were playing a team with a lot of quick players.

If we were to flip a coin enough times, we would eventually get 10 heads in a row. Are you going to ask for an explanation for that?

Oh yeah, Whitman's deep.

The other verse of Shakespeare I was asked to memorize as a youth:

"To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause . . ."

William Shakespeare, Hamlet, Act 3, scene 1.

I am not going to lie star, but that is probably closer to the truth than anything I have heard yet!  except your fouls conundrum, which COULD be a record!

You know, I think my TP count went up by 15 after that post...  ;D

You're asking people to search through every NBA game to look for a 6-minute stretch where calls were more lopsided.  Let's assume that this is even possible, to start - it probably isn't.  It would take days, maybe weeks, to come up with an answer for you.  Like I said, I'm nice, but not that nice.

How about "They got the call right".  Mass produce that and feed it to the public.   They will love it!!   Or how about just have Jay-Z make a single "They got the call right" and you can loop that sample over and over again for 4 minutes, I'm sure the public will be running to the bank to buy that one too!!
So after you heard that "statement", you went ahead and flipped a coin 10 times and it just happened to be that day it came up heads 10 times in a row, huh?  You are luckier than I am.
