I think the Celtics defense would benefit from more Perk.

Last year in the playoffs, he provided 11, 11 and 2.6 in 36 minutes a game.  He was the defenses back bone.

Now, he is playing closer to half the game.

I think if he was to play another 5 minutes a game (about 30 per game), the Celtics defense and rebound in going to improve.

Watching the Celtics, it still looks like like Perk is the backbone of the defense.  KG is the leader that makes the rest of the defense go, but Perk is the backbone.  What he does out there allows KG to be more effective coming from the backside.

I would be cool with Perk getting more minutes ... he's earned them this year, and he's in great physical shape.

Can't say I disagree with that idea.

Perkins certainly adds a certain interior presence that seems to be missed when he's not in there and we're left with Williams/Wallace.

He's, by far, our most physical presence.  Wouldn't hurt to utilize him a little more and notch up his minutes.  Especially when you consider our recent woes.

Agreed -- It would be better if Perkins played more. I'd like to see him playing around 30 minutes a night too.

I'll join the bandwagon:  more time for Perk.

I wouldn't go with such strict guidelines.  If he gets 15 up dunks because of defensive rotations, I don't want him passing up 7 of them.   ;)

2 early fouls in the last 2 games. 1 of the 2 each night was the notorious moving pick on the high screen....

26 minutes a game is ludicrous. KG shouldn't play 5 more minutes than Perk.

Me too! I love Perk's defense. He works hard, is dependable and takes his defensive duties very seriously. I'd be ecstatic if Rajon achieved his level of consistency.

I'd definitely like to see a little more Perk on offense. Not the throw the ball to him and let him back down his man but more plays run to get him easy layups like I think it was the game against the Cavs where the gameplan was to draw a double team at the top of the key and our bigs had a field day under the basket. With KG and Sheed being who they are the team needs Perk (and Baby and Sheldon if he's capable) to work on dependable post moves and FT shooting.

Yeah I honestly thought he'd be playing more minutes this season. He's in better shape and seems to be fouling less at least on the defensive end. He should be leading our bigs in minutes played.

No argument here. We need more Perk and Baby's muscle will also help kicking some butt down low with Perk. That allows KG and Pierce to wreak their finesse oriented havoc much more.

I'd also like to see Sheldon get a little nastier down low. Take over Powe's
role.

That being said, I love what I've seen from Sheldon so far.

Definitely.  He is able to play with more energy for longer periods of time than our two 6"11" guys.  We have had issues with energy, and Perk is part of the solution.
