Honestly I just think we some more practice time and more rest.   Even with 3 days off in a row last week we are still one of about 4 teams that has played 11 games so far this year.  We won't play another back to back game until 12/3.  Also take a look at the teams we lost to.  Phoenix was a hot team and was blowing through everyone on their east coast trip.  Atlanta, this is the best I've seen them since we played them in the playoffs a couple years back.   Indiana has won 4 in a row.

I will say what I am a little concerned with is that the opposing starting shooting guards for the most part have scored much more than their average.  Dahntay Jones had 25, Jason Richardson 34, Joe Johnson had 24.   That is the position I am concerned with defensively.

Doc would never do this at least not now but I would consider starting Daniels at the SG spot.   It gives us a little more size, a little more defense, and a little more slashing to the hoop to start the game.   Bring in Ray around the 6 minute mark and let him work the second unit a bit but still play him 30 minutes or so for the game.   Daniels averaged 14 PPG last year so I don't think our offense would suffer too much at the start of the game.

Our chemistry won't improve by switching up the starting lineup. Sorry.

Secondly, Ray Allen had 24 points (leading scorer for the C's) on 8-18 (44%) shooting last night, and not to mention the only starter with a positive +/- rating (even if it was only +1). Wanna know who else had a positive +/- rating? Hudson and Giddens (both +2).

Sorry, I call posts like yours a knee-jerk reaction to losing.

I wasn't trying to be knee jerk as I mentioned up top the 3 teams they lost to were basically hot teams.  I probably wouldn't take Ray out of the starting lineup this year but that doesn't take away opposing shooting guards for the most part have been killing us.

Also I hate plus minus.  Kevin Durant had an awful +/- rating last year.  This year players like J O'Neal, M Chalmbers,  A Afflalo, Chris Anderson are in the top 15 in +/- but that doesn't mean they are close to top 15 players.

Good to see that no one is suggesting starting TA over Ray any more.

Of course that's because they want them to start Daniels instead.

No need to change the starting lineup.

No need to change the offense (only twice this season have they scored less then their defensive average, and they are 1-1 when doing this)

Big need to bring the same consistent defense every night (0-2 when allowing more then 100 points)

In our championship year these guys had a hunger like you've never seen and defensively destroyed people.

We just aren't playing with the same hunger that we had 2 years back, and unless we are hot we let teams hang around and then we get stagnant on offense and they can beat us.

if these guys aren't motivated after losing the title last year and watching the Lakers celebrate, they aren't going to get hungry.

i guess modern players just don't have the same emotional makeup as the old days. remember how hungy the '76 Celtics were after being embarassed by Washington the year before ?
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

When we aren't playing well I kind of noticed that we're missing a "spark" off the bench. Rasheed and Eddie have been good (for the most part), but we're missing Something defensively. I think we're missing a posey type player. Posey fit our team perfectly a couple years ago, and i think we need him back. Posey never really had a bad game, offensively maybe, but defensively he was always perfect. We should try to trade for him. Expiring contracts or whatever, i think we need him.

No need for Posey.  Daniels is playing well enough.

This years bench is still a strong upgrade over last year when the Celtics bench was more likely to give the other team a spark then the Celtics.

I don't think it's because of a lack of motivation.   They are just a little out of sync.  4 back to backs already.   By the time we have another 4 back to backs it will be January 13th so they will get back to a normal schedule.

For the record I wouldn't take Ray out of the starting lineup.   I was just thinking of ways to mix things up if I see a trend continuing with opposing wing players going off recently.

PG, SG and SF remain areas of concern. Daniels is most effective as a SG. So SF would then be a need. Once again A 6-8" wing is the only thing this team really lacks.
