Is it me or are we starting to show our age?

And about Eddie;  I see Eddie House as a hit and miss guy.  You put him in, let him take about two shots, if he isn't making those, you pull him out and play the rookie.  Doc gives Eddie way too much rope/slack.

Well we showed that we don't have any athletic big men under the hoop.
I kind of feel like Eddie isn't getting enough good shot attempts to get in a groove.

Eddie is getting dangerously close to being the only rotation player who has yet to be productive during relevant minutes.  He has hit 13 (I think) 3's this year, but I can't recall a single one coming at an important moment.  And I don't mean in the last 5 minutes when I kno he isn't playing. I just mean when the game is still in question and the subs are doing there thing.  He has missed open shots and has not yet amazed me this year as he did so often last year. If Eddie can't be explosive with the shot, exactly what good does he do for this team?

I am not saying he's done -- I am just saying that its getting close to a point where he needs to produce.  If not in the next 5 games, then why not give Lester a chance.  He won't be worse on the defensive end or bringing the ball up.

I was disgusted by how badly we were out rebounded (45 to 29) we've been losing the rebound battle quite a bit.  We shot well but they other teams are getting a lot of second chances.

Eddie had some great games last year, but he also has shown that when defenders play him tight, he is useless. If the matchup is not in Eddie's favor, Doc should go with Hudson without hesitation.

Well, I am a big Lester guy, but benching Eddie has the potential to blow up the chemistry on this team. Eddie is a valuable player and if you bench him you make it way more likely that he will never find his shooting groove. Also, he is one of those players that commands defensive attention. They don't know that he's slumping. He spreads the defense.

Eddie is a horrible matchup against the Hawks. They let Crawford run the backup point and he just has too much speed/height for Eddie to handle. Against most other teams Eddie is fine out there.

I see what  you're saying about the "no big 3's" thing, but I just disagree. Eddie hits the shots in the second quarter that allow the game to turn into a blowout in the 3rd. They might not seem so big at the time, but he puts the team up by 10 or so and it demoralizes the other team. He's saving the legs of the superstars.

Eddie is a pure shooter and sometimes it takes a number of shots to get a shooter going besides the fact that most shooters needs to get a rhythm for the game before their comfortable
Eddies game isn't too much different than that of Ray Allen, sometimes when Ray isn't hitting shots Eddie comes in and fills up the basket quite well.
I still believe that Doc needs to give Lester Hudson more playing time he can shoot dribble pass and play defense, and with more playing time it will allow him to gather more confidence and really show off his skills

It seems that Eddie is handling the ball much too often. It takes away from his ability to run off screens and shoot. In the preseason, it looked like Quisy was taking the ball up and finding Eddie. Now, Eddie's bringing the ball up.

Eddie is most effective as a catch and shoot guy. Here, he's dribbling the ball over half-court. The offense looks very disjointed when he's doing this. I think the C's need to have Quisy or Ray bring the ball up and allow Eddie to catch and shoot. Other than hustle, that's all Eddie offers now.

Shooter's shoot, and they fall in bunches.

Plus last night we played a very good team. A team that i think will win it's division over Orlando.

Also, I think Jamal Crawford finally found a home in the ATL. He's perfect for a sixth man role because he has no conscience when he's jacking up shots (similar to Eddie). He's not disrupting the flow of the offense on the second unit as opposed to running outside the schemes on the first.

Though he needs to learn to dribble without traveling.

The bench offense (and defense) actually runs fairly well when Lester's in there.  I expect to see him in in the first half by late this year.

We can whine about Eddie every 10 games or so when he is in a slump, and then sing his praises when he goes on a tear, but the fact is that Eddie isn't the reason we lost this game. We lost this game because of second chance points. Hubie was right on about us playing very good defense initially forcing tough shots, and then the Hawks getting a rebound and put back. We had an issue with guys not boxing out last night plain and simple.

Have to see if Doc has the guts to actually pay attention to matchups and play younger players. We were giving away way too many uncontested 3's Part of the was Sheed standing around and part was Eddies inability to stay with quicker and taller players. He was totally ineffective at both ends. That is not to say he was not hustling and that he cannot be effective in some situations. He was just the wrong guy to be out there. Perhaps this is where we miss a TA type player (giddens may not be ready; but Lester might also be able to help) or where we play Daniels with Ray and Paul.

If we did not have a game today, I think we would have seen more of KG and less Sheed. So yes we are old and it is showing. Wish they had stuck with Shelden and allowed him to settle down and focus on rebounding.

We looked old 2 years ago against horrible teams like Charlotte. Nothing new.

You need to work on you memory than. He has had 3s in close games this year. Don't blame House for bad memory or inattentiveness.

He has been horrible though the last few.
