How many others here feel like me? Leon would have helped us greatly last night. Also Powe is a better player for us than Rasheed Wallace. What do I care thAt Rasheed spaces the floor if all his shots are misses. Boy, he loves to miss. All he does is miss. Also, he IS slow and IS not such a good rebounder as he is made out to be. Leon is better.

Are we arguing that Leon Powe is a better player than Rasheed Wallace?
Yup

Sheed is far more talented, but Leon never looked lazy.

Neither does Scal.

Still rather have Rasheed out there.

Good point.  I'm just partial to beastlike big men.  Leon was a beast.  I actually wanted McDyess more than Sheed, because he's physical and rebounds.

Yup.  I was on the McDyess bandwagon too.  Wanted him more than Sheed, but in the long haul I think Sheed will be the better fit here.

And I loved Leon too, but his game tends be seen as a little bit greater than it is by us.
Yup

I would have been happy with either. Both guys have pluses and minuses. I do think Sheed in the end will be a better fit because he's a longer defender. It'd help if he'd post up a few more times a game though.

The guy replacing powe is not sheed, its sheldon williams. I thought Sheldon actually looked pretty good last night except for a few little fumbles under the basket. I dont have the box score handy but he must have been close to double digit rebounds.

This is just silly, how quick are you to forget when sheed racks 4 three's in a game, what we won so it didnt count. we are a very good 3 pt. shooting team, you life by the 3 you die by the 3. we went 1-15 last night, and didnt rebound, you cant shoot 3 like that and not box out and have your guards not show up for the long rebound either.

Yes we got our ass beat on the rebounds, Doc is right, they are a more authletic team, we did not body up and we did not get physical, with the exception of Perk. The Hawks live and die by second and third chance points, much like the Suns live a die by 115 point games. When we dont play OUR game and let our opponents run thier game, we will not win, end of story.

Celtics hang in their the first half of the game and crush the third quarter and roll into taking advantage of tired offense in the fourth. We did not do that, we did not take control in the third. granted every time we started to gain some momentum a timely foul was called (Im not saying it was refs fault). 16 points in the 4th, that only eight shots, that just doesn't cut it against a playoff cal. team.

We also did a poor job controlling the tempo of the game.

We are 8-2, stop freaking out, rid the panic, and have some trust in your team! The season is young and it was a competitive game, we have not been blown out yet, unlike the lakers, caves, suns, and the magic. Both games we lost were single digits, which means we were never out of the game.

I thought Leon's home was the Bay area of California?

Leon sitting on the bench hurt would not have helped us win last night's game.

where was this thread in 7 of the other games where sheed was hitting?

He had a bad night, as did ray allen and eddie house. Should they stop shooting the three too? i mean clearly they suck as three point shooters based on that one night.

The reason we lost last night had little to do with the three ball, though hitting them would have helped. It had to do with giving up 24 freaking second chance points.

Tough to win when you give the other team multiple tries a trip and force yourself to play defense two and sometimes three times a possession.

Also, as many have already pointed out

1. leon sitting on the bench wouldn't have helped, as suave a figure as he cuts in a suit

2. Sheed is not Leon's replacement, sheldon is and sheldon looked ok last night.

I would just like to see Sheed get more down low instead of forcing the 3.  I understand taking them when you are open, but there were 2-3 shots where there was a man on his face and he still shot it.  However, he was being effective down low when he tried.  I would like to see him go back and forth to diversify his game.  I think at this point teams have started noticing Sheed's tendency of staying on the 3 point line.

A bigger problem than Sheed shooting 3s is other players kicking out the ball when they are in the lane in position for a decent shot near the end of the game.

Sheed is in a slump on 3's. So is Eddie.  They'll snap out of it soon.
