ITS ALL OVER!! THE GAME WAS FIXED!!   9 FOULS IN A ROW IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!

09:17 Wallace Foul : Offensive (4 PF)
08:34 Perkins Foul : Shooting (4 PF)
08:09 Garnett Foul : Personal (1 PF)
07:23 Rondo Foul : Personal (3 PF)
06:42 Daniels Foul : Personal (3 PF)
06:08 Pierce Foul : Defense 3 Second (0 PF)
05:56 Allen Foul : Shooting (3 PF)
04:44 Garnett Foul : Personal (2 PF)
03:38 Wallace Foul : Shooting (5 PF)

the celtics lost the game with their poor effort last night.  although there were some bad calls made, the refs didnt impact whether we won or lost, the team did.  im saying this, and i HATE nba officials.

I am not just sad, I am frustrated that we lost to the Hawks again, and the media will try to spin it like we don't have a chance to win the title anyway. We gave the Hawks even more swagger than they've already had.

Dude, sorry but you're a fool.

This type of thing happens all the time. Heck it happened last night in another game.

Check out the calls in the LA/Denver game. Between the 4:35 mark of the 2nd quarter and the 6:41 mark of the 3rd quarter 9 calls against the Lakers, 1 against the Nuggets.

At he start of the 4th quarter last night in LA, Toronto had the first 6 fouls of the quarter called against them in about 4 1/2 minutes.

Simply put, if I wanted to I could probably find a game just about every single night where the calls go decidedly one way for a period of time.

Throw the conspiracy theories out the window and please, I beg you, enough with the refs are crooked and against the Celtics because were they against the Lakers and Raptors too? because if so, the did a poor job in LA, the Raptors won.

I think part of the reason this happens is that the team that is behind and that expected to be the winner (ie, Lakers, Celtics)  get frustrated and start taking more chances swiping at the ball and playing more physical.  They commit more fouls when they get frustrated.   Although there were a lot of questionable calls (and no calls),  you would have to look at the fouls themselves rather than the numbers to make your point.

Sorry 9 to 1, and 6 to 0, isn't 10-0, nice try though.

Because if one player can only get called for 6 fouls in 360 consecutive minutes and the Celtics got called for 10 fouls in a row in less than 6 consecutive minutes you know its cheating.

9 Calls against 1 in 10 minutes isn't even close to 10 calls against 0 in less than 6 minutes, TP for the effort though. Its not even close though.

Um no, actually the answer is not.    Toronto got called for 3 fouls the entire 4th quarter last night against the Clippers.

Calderon Foul : Shooting (3 PF)  06:58
Johnson Foul : Shooting (3 PF)  08:37
Wright Foul : Shooting (3 PF)  09:38

Only star18 gets the stats right.

i have to be honest... I'm not meticulous with this kind of stuff.  I can't reference a specific point.  But early on in this game I felt like the refs were calling a lot of things in favor of Atlanta... almost too much.   And then I started remembering all of those Tim Donaghey excerpts and I immediately thought to myself, "nationally televised game... atlanta vs boston... they want this one to stay close"...

I'm usually the one who would say "never blame the refs... it's part of the game"...   And I believe they showed Doc in his timeout basically said to his boys, "play through it.  They are letting them get away with stuff but play through it".   So whether or not the Refs were actually fixing the game... it seems that Boston at least had the same perception I did.   Is it an excuse for losing the game?... no... but I wonder how much of that ends up throwing them off, frustrating them and causing them to give one away.  If you had in the back of your mind, "the refs are trying to screw us tonight", it might cause you to play a little different.

Ooops my bad, make that the third quarter:

11:00   Andrea Bargnani shooting foul (Marcus Camby draws the foul)
9:30   Chris Bosh shooting foul (Rasual Butler draws the foul)
9:18   Andrea Bargnani personal foul (Chris Kaman draws the foul)
9:17   Hedo Turkoglu personal foul (Al Thornton draws the foul)
8:07   Jose Calderon personal foul (Baron Davis draws the foul)
7:43   Andrea Bargnani personal foul (Rasual Butler draws the foul)

Yeah, but a rash of fouls all going one way never happens in the NBA!!! ::) ::)

There was pretty clearly a double standard for contact for much of the game.  Now, that doesn't mean the game was fixed or that the refs cost us the game - I don't believe either one of those.  But I also don't believe you can say the refs had no net impact at all on the outcome.  They weren't the biggest reason we lost, and fans always think their team isn't officiated fairly, but I think it's reasonable to say the game wasn't called consistently last night.

Close but no cigar.   I don't know where you got the 7:43 Bargnani call for I have it as 07:43 Butler Foul : Personal (1 PF).

So in reality it is   11:00   Andrea Bargnani shooting foul (Marcus Camby draws the foul)
9:30   Chris Bosh shooting foul (Rasual Butler draws the foul)
9:18   Andrea Bargnani personal foul (Chris Kaman draws the foul)
9:17   Hedo Turkoglu personal foul (Al Thornton draws the foul)
8:07   Jose Calderon personal foul (Baron Davis draws the foul)

That is only 5 foul calls in a row in 3 minutes, the next call went against the Clippers.  Plus the Raptors were on the road, plus it was in the 3rd quarter, not the 4th.

If no black people win Oscars for 74 years and then Halle Berry wins one, you know its cheating because one stretch of time is way longer than the other.

See how I ignored tons and tons of other factors there? Yeah.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Yes obviously that is actually called racism, but I don't want to get into that.     Besides, Halle Berry doesn't play basketball.   Heard she has a nice jump shot though.
Nice comparision, just not really the kind of stuff I am talking about.
