Atlanta 22 second chance points, the Celtics 4. Celtics outrebounded by 18. That is all you need to know about the effort tonight.

Exactly TP.

Let me ask you a question.  How are you supposed to play well when you get 12 calls against you in a row at home in the 4th?

When there's a lack of effort, you tend not to get any calls.  Tonight's loss was flat out due to a lack of effort - end of story.

You can bring up all the stats in the world.  Bottom line it doesn't make how the calls were made correct.   When you go on a roll getting calls obviously you are going to play better.

Give the Hawks a little credit, they've earned it.  This is a better, smoother team than I remember.  And there is a lot more obvious confidence there too.  They did what they needed to do.

I agree.
The Hawks became a pretty good team over the last two years.

People say they are young, but their core is together for 3-5 years now, so they have experience as a team.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

It wasn't a lack of effort the game was a few point difference in the 4th, that is a close game.  After a string of calls like that it is just excuse after excuse about looking at a team's play and trying to make that the reason.   A foul is a foul, a call is a call.  It doesn't matter what the stats are.

I'm tired of having a point guard that can't shoot from 10 ft away they've let off him ALL night daring him to shoot it. Every $ worth of your 10+ million point guard.

Wait till the playoffs. Will have a ton game 7's because Rondo can't shoot anything.

Idk if your serious or not  :(, but i'm not a RR fan and i'm really tired of his flaws. On this blog it's worthless to argue since people seem completely oblivious to his very apparent flaws, flaws that put more pressure on our 30+ yr old vets.

His overconfidence and inability to shoot got old 2 years back. If we can't mesh youth into our line ups to fight against young teams we aren't going to the finals.
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!

When asked about the difference in rebounding he flat out said it

"we just wanted it more than them."

If the calls were even during the 10:00 to 3:30 stretch in the 4th Celtics most likely have a 3 point lead with 3 minutes left.     Then they go on to win.  Now talk about the teams play.

I agree.  Lack of effort traditionally means being slow, out of position or unwilling to finish the move, all of which lead to fouls.

G'night folks, thanks for hanging out (and sticking it out!).

When you get that many calls in a row against you what do you want the players to do? How do you expect them to play?      Stop using stats, and what you think is how the players played as an excuse for a string of calls like that.  Think about if the calls were even, then how do the stats look?  Alot better than they do now in the box score.

The calls weren't fouls they were complete nonsense.    Complete nonsense calls.

Games like this tell you a lot more about where your team stands than a 30 point blowout over some crap team.  When your team looks old and slow on its home court, that to me is an alarming sign.  KG has an excuse and so does Pierce because he was obviously hurting.

Sheed on the other hand is looking like a major mistake - though granted, it's still very early.  To me he looks either done or out of shape, depending on whether you're an optimist or a pessimist.

They also miss the energy of Leon & Baby.

Doc's got a lot of work to do.

Lack of defensive effort and lack of rebounding effort loss this game, not the refs.
