Mario Chalmers
Dwyane Wade
Lebron James
Michael Beasley
Jermaine O'neal (if he returns for less money)

could this team be successful?

Right now, I don't think so. They'd have to do what the KG, Paul and Ray did, and at this stage in their respective careers, I don't think either one of these players would be able to accept not being "the man". And one of them would have to. And that would cause problems. And there would be drama. And they would finish with 49-55 wins on talent alone despite the drama. But then they would lose in the second round, and their would be more drama. It'd be kind of a talented mess.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Jordan and Pippen worked.  Why not Wade and LeBron?

Absolutely. They'd be a devastating combination.

That's what I'm thinking as well, can you imagine double teaming off of anybody on that team?

Frightening for the rest of the league if they played together.

They would have a solid team..I'd give them maybe 2nd round of playoffs.

They would need a lock-down defender/rebounder type (a Rodman, Horace Grant) to think NBA Finals.

Jordan/Pippen always had a third wheel to push them over top.

They'd Destroy the league, since the opportunity to play in Miami, with Dwade AND Lebron would be incredibly enticing to any Free Agent. Beasley is also coming along nicely and would obviously benefit from playing with such talent. The team would win a ring within a few years no question, maybe not the team the OP posted but the roster would obviously evolve for the better.

I actually disagree with you here.  As much as LBJ annoys the heck out of me, I feel like he's pretty desperate to play with another scorer than can take some of the burden off of him.  It must kill him inside that his 2nd best team option is Williams...who is hardly the type of player that will instill fear into other teams.

Somehow, I feel the same way with Wade.

They're both still young...but both have been in the league long enough to want to win.  If they were both on the same team, I think it would be pretty devastating.

I agree that they'd need an enforcer type...to take some of the burden off both of them.  I don't think J O'Neal is that guy...but I could see them going all the way if they had someone like Perk.

It would be very difficult to accept for Wade, I think, if Lebron signed in Miami.  He's used to the Heat being "his" team.  Having another star come in and trump him would be hard to take.  With the Shaq situation, Wade was younger in his career; now, he's an established superstar.

Lebron, too, might have a concern that Wade might suck up some of his glory.

Plus, they're both the types of guy who play best with the ball in their hands.  Certainly,  a team with both of them would be mega-talented, but I also think they'd have some significant growing pains.
