Delonte West is crazy and I don't understand all the love he gets here. I didn't know him as a Celtic but still... I don't see anything likable in West. I'm sorry but a guy who carries 4 (or 5?) weapons with him doesn't sound like a "good guy" to me, and his statements are really weird.

I think you're right that a lot of the good will toward Delonte was built up when he was in green.  He was a player who always hustled, and hit some big shots (such that they were).  He was one of the "young core" that a lot of people fell in love with.

If you missed those years, I can absolutely understand why you wouldn't like Delonte.  On the surface, he's a fringe starter with major off the court issues.  However, in terms of energy and hustle on the court while he was here, there were few who played with his passion.  Plus, he was 1000 times better than Marcus Banks. ;)

Oh, I remember those years, and I always said he wasn't funny, but was an idiot.  I guess I was proven right.

He is going Marbury on us.  At least Marbury had a few years under his belt when he truly went off the deep end.  I feel bad for both of these guys because they are truly crazy and not necessarily bad people.
Examples of bad people who are not crazy include Allen Iverson and Steven Jackson.

I wonder if this was how the Fort Hood killer was treated.  The guy obviously has a problem, but there seems to be hope that he can still be treated.  Then all of a sudden the guy does something drastic.  I am just saying, the warning signs are there.

I'm with you, Bankshot.  West's supposed cleverness and humor were always lost on me as well: he just sounded like an idiot who didn't realize that's what he was.

I wonder how much Danny saw him as inventory with a short shelf life when he traded him away.

What ever happened to Scintan? He used to post all the time when the C's were terrible. I wonder if he is posting under a different name now. I must admit, although I didn't always agree with him, I appreciated his different take on things. He argued well and his views made for some good discussion, and he seemed to enjoy going against the tide.

The reason Delonte is obsessing about 1 + 1 = 2 is that he's been taking classes in the offseason, trying to get his degree from St. Joe's.

I too have asked myself the "Scintan" question.  I don't think he's posting here under another name, because his style of mentation was ... too idiosyncratic.  I think it would remain identifiable under a different handle.

It makes me wonder if Delonte's always been this way (probably) and the Celtics are just better at covering things up than the Cavs (KG's got STAPLES!!!)

It's hard to tell what's going on in the head these days of Delonte West. But FanHouse wanted to give Cleveland's mercurial guard an opportunity to explain some of his recent doings. . . .

"One plus one is two and C always comes out to A and B,'' West said to FanHouse.
West, who hadn't spoken to reporters since media day Sept. 28, was asked what that meant.

"One plus one always be two,'' he said.

West again was asked to clarify.

"One plus one always be two, brother,'' he said.

West declined further comment.

Later in the day, West was put on the inactive list for Wednesday night's game against Orlando at Amway Arena. A Cavaliers insider said that an incident happened that was called not major but the team decided it was best to give West the night off.

Basically, the guy is killing his reputation, and his career along with it.  I'm not sure what the "incident" was, but giving interviews like this just make him sound like he's out of his mind.  It's sad to see; I like Delonte, and wish him the best.  I just hope that he's taking this more seriously than it seems from afar.
If we could get his email address or some way to contact him, I think it'd be cool for people on Celtics fans to show their support.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I remember Scintan.  What about Big John? Remember him?  He loved Delonte, but hated Pierce and wanted to trade Pierce for Tyson Chandler.lol
