- If you don't feel like reading a lot of corny poo, you can skip this next bit, and just read the question ;) It's down below, in bold :P -

Unlike some of you might've come to believe, basketball isn't all green. Of course, the bigger half is, but there's more, and it's multicoloured. There are other teams out there that have their share of fans, and we have a lot more in common with them than you might think at first. Now I know you're not all as dense as I have been the past year, for I was 100% green and any/everything that was not green just fell off my radar.

That's why I've been wandering. Yes, I too have found the other basketball blogs out there. Most of them ran by fans and I've found there's no better way to prepare for a match than to visit the blog of that nights opponent. I read up what they expect, know what to look for in the game and know of any ins and outs on the opposing team. To me, this adds a lot to the game. It makes me want to win more, but it also makes me respect the other team a bit more.

Also, I've found it rather fun and rewarding to leave a comment or two, before and after the game. Before the game just to wish them luck, and maybe add some fitting comment on one or two of their players. Afterward either to congratulate them, or -most of the time (har har)- to talk a bit about how they did, how I think we played and other random things without trying to "rub it in". It's been great and the replies have been positive all around.

This is probably a bit of a longwinded story for such a short question, 'cuz my question to you is fairly simple:
- Have any of you been frequenting other blogs? And if so, had any good experiences?

I'm kind of looking to broaden my horizon by partaking in other bball fan communities. Just want to know where the fun is ;)

FL Celtics fan does a great job at this.
Check out his feature "Comments from the other side" after each game.
Here is a link.  http://celticsgreen.blogspot.com/2009/11/comments-from-other-side-nets-117.html
It is really entertaining to do after a win, and a little bit depressing after a loss.

there's a pretty good listing of SBN blogs across the league here:

and if you have a user ID for the front page of this blog, then you can start posting on them automatically (just a quick checkbox to agree to their site terms)

Honestly...  none of them.  Very few blogs also have active forums like we do (and none on SBN).  BlazersEdge has a very active basketball blog, but I think it's not quite as good as ours.  Still, it's not bad.

Ironically enough, in terms of forums I think the Lakers have a fairly strong community (despite being made up of those disgusting Lakers fans).  One of the only NBA sites that probably gets similar activity to here -- if not content -- is http://forums.lakersground.net/.

Also, of course, for a quick look at all 30 teams, there's always RealGM.  It's not really my cup of tea these days, but lots of people like it.

Its not a forum (just comments), or Cavs specific, but www.waitingfornextyear.com has a lot of great content.  I visit there every day

I used to frequent www.realcavsfans.com but my current internet explorer crashes every time I access it now.

As far as sites outside of CelticsBlog, I think as Roy mentions, Blazer's Edge has a great community across the board - their readers are classy and dedicated, and Dave and Ben provide an terrific mix of front page content.

I would also give special mention to Third Quarter Collapse, Blog a Bull and Sactown Royalty.  Ben Q Rock and Eddy Rivera at 3QC do a terrific job offering original commentary, they get great guests, and Eddy in particular (though Ben is no slouch) is excellent with advanced metrics.  Matt at BaB and Tom Ziller at StR are just flat-out two of my favorite writers across the 'Net.  They are both strong voices whose work includes a nice swirl of humor and insight (and biting wit, especially when the teams aren't playing well), and no one knows those teams better than those guys do.

Highly recommend those four sites in particular - but there is really plenty of great stuff out there. I could go on for a while on that account, but that seems like a start...

Just thought I would like to mention I have been banned from lakersground.net because of my taunting after we won two years ago.
