I have read multiple quotes from Rudy in the past year or so saying how he's not happy in Portland, whether it be for lack of minutes or ball touches etc. I even noticed in a highlight this morning where he worked to get a steal and another team mate took the ball from him to run it down on a fast break. Rudy looked surprised and p---ed, but that's just me...back to Rudy

He can shoot the 3. He can catch an oop from just about anywhere and throw it down, and I think he could fit into our team defense. Portland has too many guards right now, so sending them a big would make sense to get this guy.
I have a couple trades in mind, but it's hard with his limited salary but huge talent/value...

Rudy and Steve Blake for BBD, Bill Walker and a 1st rounder?
Rudy and Outlaw for BBD and House?
Can't stop, Rondo!

I love Rudy as much as the next guy (maybe more), just don't see what's in it for Portland here.  Just because he's not happy doesn't mean he can't play or should be sent packing.  At some point this season Rudy will get big minutes and be needed there.
Yup

Agreed, I would love to have him here, but Portland can get a lot more for him.

  • Rondo = Good
I think the Blazers would be willing to part with Martell Webster or Nicolas Batum before they'd part with Rudy Fernandez (or at least I think they ought to be). Fernandez has more promise than either of those players.

Portland laughs at this one. He cant find minutes in Portland...How would he find many minutes here? Rudy and Blake for 2 hurt bench players and a late first round pick? No way.

I've been reading a Blazers Board and they all seem to think that Batum has a BRIGHT future. I agree with you though, i think Rudy is  better than both of them.

This is why Ainge gets paid the big bucks. What will he offer that we don't have? Add Another 3pointer specialist.......yay! Eddie House would be offended by the comparison. Also Why trade Baby? His big Body and his scoring will be needed sooner than later. If we are going to trade someone please let it be Tony or JR. Those two haven't shown any improvements. Walker has potential and is cheap. Scal is also tradable, but his play hasn't warranted a trade. Scal is the so called "intangible player" stats are not kind to him, but his presence is felt.

So my point is, Rudy won't add anything to this team. And if we trade anyone Tony, and JR are first in line.

Can we get him? I don't think any of the players Danny might offer would be of any interest for the Blazers

Would I want to trade for him? Absolutely. He would add athleticism and talent to the second unit

JR and Tony aren't worth anything.

And Rudy would add a smart, young, athletic shooting guard that could actually shoot. And i wouldn't exactly call him a three point specialist, as he can run the break very well, and has a lot of finishing power.

I agree.  Rudy has a lot more value right now than Davis.  And I have a feeling Rudy is just the first (or actually second...Andre Miller beat him to the punch) of many players complaining in Portland.

They have a ton of average players, with no one really standing out at several different positions, and they have a coach who is a meddler.  Combine that with the high expectations for that team, and you have a potentially explosive situation.  I would not be surprised at all to see a Scott Skiles/Chicago Bulls situation go down in Portland this season, where the players get sick of the coach and quit on him, and suddenly they all start losing value quickly, and the team really needs to make a decision on what they are going to do with the roster.

Rajon Rondo is the only player good enough for the Blazers to put Rudy Fernandez on the table ... which is clearly a non-starter for the Celtics.
