Wow. i would love to see a sequel to that interview they had a while back. The one where iverson talks about winning a championship or bust kind of talk. what a phony.
I wonder if they are trying to make this happen. I would love to see what iverson said and see Thompson's response to all this drama in memphis. the guy is destroying what's left of his bball rep.
Tim Legler was right about iverson. he needs to reinvent himself. When he is all done playing he's reallyn gonna regret not hopping on a contender as a reserve or just being a positive part of a team.

I hate to semi-hijack your thread, but if this is how AI's career comes to a close with a blow up in Memphis, the worst team in basketball.......do you still think he makes it to the hall of fame??

AI has been acting crazy even by his standards.  Complaining after his very first game back from an injury?  He's apparently never heard of easing a player back into the mix for the sake of the team and for the sake of not reinjuring the player.
Also he says he's a starter and has never been a bench player in his life.  I guess he can't remember last year!
As far as I knew he was told he was going to be the 6th man when he signed, now he's acting shocked by the whole thing.
Another retarded comment- he says he had no idea the Grizzlies were a "rebuilding" team.  Haha, its the same exact team they had last year with the exception of adding AI.  What is this guy thinking?  Absolutely crazy.

Wouldn't it be cool if he made a guest appearance on starbury's web cam? They could hang out together and talk about practice, vasaline and other fun topics.

apparently doesn't feel it's his job to figure out a role in which he can help the Grizzlies.

"I'm not trying to figure out how to contribute to no team," Iverson said. "I contribute to a team by just playing. That's it. I don't have to figure it out. Obviously, they signed me for a reason. They've been watching me play this game for 13 years, and they know what I do on the basketball court, so I don't have to figure out how I'm going to play or anything like that. I just go out and play basketball."

He really just doesnt have a clue does he? Ive never seen a player in my life claim to be such a franchise player and leader yet constantly exhibit the complete opposite behavior you would look for in person with those qualities on such a consistant basis.

It's like it's a joke.  The man could be an NBA Sixth man on championship team right now if he wanted to be, instead hes gonna be playing in Europe next year just so he can have his name announced in the starting lineups.

I wouldn't be surprised if Memphis management put him up to it.  The Griz  are irrelevant, and the only thing that gets them any publicity is Iverson's discontent.  They'd love him to punch out the coach if it would sell more tickets.
