Technically the Celtics could renounce Allen and Pierce (if he ops out) and sign James.

How so?  The cap is estimated to be somewhere between $50 and $53 million next season; let's take the high number.

1. KG - $18,832,044
2. Rondo - $9,100,000 (approximately)
3. Rasheed - $6,322,320
4. Perkins - $4,890,208
5. BBD - $3,000,004
6. roster charge - $457,588
7. roster charge - $457,588
8. roster charge - $457,588
9. roster charge - $457,588
10. roster charge - $457,588
11. roster charge - $457,588
12. roster charge - $457,588

Renounced: Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Eddie House, Marquis Daniels, Shelden Williams, Brian Scalabrine, Tony Allen, Bill Walker, J.R. Giddens, Lester Hudson

Total:  $45,347,692

$53 million - $45.35 million = $7.65 million

Lebron isn't going to sign for less than $8 million in his first year, when he's eligible for around $16 million+.

Shamsports has not updated Rondo's contract. That was the mistake.

Lebron has a career ending injury and works out a buyout deal so that he can fulfill his dream of becoming a Boston Celtic bench coach.

Downside: Tyronn Lue is out a job.
Yup

I will be shocked if LeBron leaves Cleveland by a route other than a sign and trade.

Get your trades together if you are thinking about LJ being on the C's.  I actually don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that a trade could go down right around the trade deadline next year.  The C's problem is that the players they would be offering are old except maybe Perkins.  I don't see them using Rondo in any trade because you would want to team them up together.

My dad and i have gone about this for months! He is a Knick fan and says LeBron will end up leaving Cleveland if they don't win. I am saying to him where rather the Jersey can he go with a better chance to win now, and get the max money. So I really think he ends up staying with the Cavs. Another thing i was saying though if he really wanted to win a ring. He would sign with someone like the Celtics or the Lakers (UGH!) for the MLE and then as that looks to be expiring have a deal in place for the max! So i know its a lot of wishful thinking but we will see, but i really want to see what we could do or your ideas into getting LeBron James.
ridiculous

Besides, if you're going to renounce that many players you need to get quality back. Like Travis Knight, for example...

I still think that LeBron should go to Miami, of all the destinations, that's the one I'm more concerned about.

I think the Cavs will do everything they can to get him into the Western Conference.

I want To hear The Ways LeBron Could Be A Celtic!

Hopefully there isn't one.

I think the first time the narcissistic messiah would refer to Pierce, Garnett, Perk, or Rondo as "my guys" during one of his nauseating press conferences....I think he'd get the Karl Malone treatment Isiah got in the next day's practice.

There are few players that would cause me to cease watching my beloved C's if they manned green.  The messiah and Iverson are two of them.

Why do we want LeBron on the Celtics when it's more fun beating him?  ;D

Here is the one and only conceivable way that LeBron James could end up being a Boston Celtic.   And... the likeliness of this happening is about .001%..

The Cavs continue to struggle.   Things are looking dire.  For some reason they puddle around the entire season hovering around .500... some key players get hurt... the prospects of winning a title go out the window.

Bron becomes more and more visibly frustrated.  He speaks out about his teammates.  He continues to drop more and more hints about how awesome New York is.   Poo hits the fan...

Right around the trade deadline, Bron has a meeting with management and ownership.   He lays it out for them.  "Fellas... bottom line... I'm signing with the Nets or Knicks in the offseason.  I just wanted to give you the heads up.  Staying in Cleveland isn't happening.  I appreciate everything you've done for me... but lets be honest here... I made you a butt load of money.  It's time for me to move on.   Do with this information what you must. "

Management freaks out.   They make some calls to the Knicks/Nets to see if they can work out some kind of trade... basically speed up the process for Bron and hope to get something of value as opposed to just watching him walk away in a few months.   They ask Bron if he's willing to consider any other options.   How bout the Clippers, Bron?

For whatever reason, the Cavs can't find anything of value from the Knicks or Nets.  Ainge gets wind of this... makes a long shot offer... the Cavs listen.

Boston offers Ray Allen, every draft pick they have, tons of cash... Glen Davis... possibly even Rondo (he's not on that big contract yet)... they offer to take back any bad contracts the Cavs need to unload...   Bron suddenly decides, "you know what?... Boston wouldn't be so bad"...  Cavs decide "you know what... I'd rather have Ray Allen, a bunch of picks and some young talent rather than just watch Bron walk in a few months..."... Cavs come back to Boston and say "well do it if you give us Pierce instead..."   Boston comes back and says, "UGHHHHh.... [dang it]... Pierce?  We'd have to give up Piece for the greatest player in the league?  Ughhh... i hate to do this, but... ugggghh!!!!!  FINE.   Only if Bron signs an extension, of course"

And the super unlikely impossible scenario happens where Bron joins us for our championship run.

Kupchak will get wind of it at the same time Ainge does, because LeBron's agent will have called every GM in the league.

Kupchak will offer Bynum, Odom, Farmar and every draft pick he has. That's a better offer than Boston's unless Rondo and Perkins are included.

Let me add that the Cavs will probably take less to get him out of the EC.
