Can anyone deny that when I said I had a great rebounding team and great defensive team(with starters Luis Scola, gerald Wallace, Joel Przybilla, Stephen Jackson and Ramon Sessions) that I was right? The Boxers have 3 of the top per game rebounders in the league(including the best in Wallace). The Boxers have three of the top per minute rebounders in the league(including the best in Przybilla).

The Boxers claimed that the bench was young and deep and that players like George Hill(who will start getting starting time and big numbers in SA), Julian Wright(now starting in NO), Anthony Morrow(proving what a great shooter and scorer he is night in and night out, currently over 50% from the field and from three) and Kris Humphries(solid ninth man) would shine. I think the numbers look good so far.

But because the big names weren't there, the Boxers didn't get the votes. But then again most who voted probably would never have thought that a team made up of Scola, Landry, Cook, Battier, Artest, Lowry, Brooks, and Hayes would have taken the Lakers to seven games or currently be an extremely impressive group.

You can't be happy with the early season developments concerning Stephen Jackson (team cancer, coach killer) and Ramon Sessions (just not that good), can you?

No more or less than you are with the starts of Shaq(showing he is clearly over the hill and will come to play once every three games or so), Delonte(psychological probs, not starting and putting up awful numbers), Michael Redd(injured again as many predicted) or Manu( horrible shooting, slow afoot and just horribly inefficient numbers). My team was voted out of the playoffs. The Crotonats somehow won with a group of players that were clearly on the downside of careers that people ignored(not me I was pointing that out since before the draft was even over).

Your numbers are looking good so far. I do like your team, I just don't think you have an elite team. Although your numbers are looking good they are not looking early season fake Golden State good. I will now allow all of you to appologize for voting me the 7 seed ;-)

I wouldn't say that just because your team can rebound means that it'd be a success.
Gee, I didn't know that was the only thing I said. I thought I also said they were a great defensive group. Wallace, Jackson, Scola and Przybilla are all known to be great defensive players and great team defensive players. I also mentioned bench contributions.

And if you don't think being the possible best rebounding team means success then I guess knowing that last year's leading rebounding team was the Lakers and the year's before the Cavs  or the 50 win Bulls the year before or the World Champion Heat the year before or the 62 win Suns the year before means nothing to you.

Two points about the rebounding of your team:

1) I have you in the mix of top 4 rebounding teams with the 76ers, Denver and Phoenix.
2) Except for the Lakers, none of those teams won a championship. So, no, I don't think rebounding is everything. Nor do i think your team is that good defensively, Pryz is overrated and if Sessions was a lock down defender, he'd be starting over Flynn.
The Heat won the Championship too.

But then again I'm not claiming my team would win the CB NBA. Just that they were a lot better than most gave them credit for.

Also, just to let you know, one of the main reasons for Phoenix's bad numbers in this matrix is their bad rebounding numbers and the Sixers and Nuggets don't have rebounding numbers anywhere near the Boxers right now.

I never claimed to be an elite team, just a good playoff team that would drive certain constructed teams fits once in the playoffs. A team with a group of offensively and defensively talented big men would KILL the Boxers. Kill them. But a team like the one the Magic put together or Boston or Atlanta, Charlotte, Indiana, Miami, Jersey, or other wing based teams, I think we would match up great against them and give them trouble. Maybe beat Orlando and Jersey in the playoffs. But teams like Toronto and Cleveland in the East would kill us in a playoff series.

I'm glad to see Manu had a big night.  36 points, 6 threes, 8 assists, and 4 blocks.  Any doubts about his status as an elite player should be put to rest.

Well, one game of 36 after not being able to break 17 for 5 games doesn't mean a lot to me. I'ld wait a few more games before proclaiming Manu's greatness once again Roy. I mean were you ready to proclaim Jermaine O'Neal back after his two first games? If so know that since then he's been a 11PPG, 5 RPG 2.3 TOPG somewhat disinterested stiff that he's looked like for most of the last three years.

Seems George Hill is going to be replacing Ramon Sessions as the starting guard for the Boxers. Whenever he's been given starting minutes in SA he's produced big. With Parker down again, Hill should be shining once again.

Manu has the track record to back it up.  His numbers are kept down because of the depth of the team he's on, but he's still fully capable of taking over a game.  With Duncan and Parker out, Manu got more touches, and lit it up.

That's sort of the problem with a stats-based evaluation system, I think.  If you put Manu on a bad team, he'd put up 22+ points per night.  However, since he's on a good team, his average suffers.  However, he's still the exact same player.

His rebounding, assts and three point percentage are diminished when compared to 2006-2007.

Didn't vote for me as the 7th seed as in you voted me higher or lower? If higher (I think the 4th seed is accurate) then I would like to praise you for your intelligence and foresight. If lower you are a cotton headed ninny muggins.
