Just when you thought it was safe to go back into Celticsblog....Another Toine Thread!!   ;D

Quote
According to the Boston Globe, Antoine Walker frittered away more than $110 million in career earnings on gambling, 70 or so assorted hangers-on, watches, cars, clothes and his mother's Tinley Park mansion.

According to Walker's high school coach, nothing could be further from the truth.

"It must've been a slow news day in Boston," Mike Curta said a few days after the Globe's Sunday opus about Walker's finances, "because I've talked to him and he's fine."

While I question the validity of the statement and other things he said, considering that he really IS a friend of his,  I believe that Antoine isn't truly "BROKE"(meaning "out of money") and all this business with the courts will be settled.

Of course, provided that Toine shimmies his way out of this, this has been an absolute PR NIGHTMARE considering that he was already on the fringes of his NBA Career.

Personally, I'd rather he just quit and become an NBA broadcaster or something....maybe replace one of the Celtics broadcasters.... ;)

I like the Celtics broadcasters - but I think Walker would make a good trainer, maybe - or assistant coach.

I dunno, I could do without Donnie "Secret plan to defend Rasheed" Marshall.

I have to admit - Donny gets a bit much sometimes - especially with the "UConn Is Greatest" stuff and "I'm Ray's best friend because we went to the same college" - and he's really not enuf of a homer to be where he is.

TP because I like the subject line!

Donny often seems like he's auditioning to get a national job. I wonder if he'd homer it up more if he had a bigger role-- meaning if Tommy left, which should never ever ever happen-- or if he'd just stay with the persona he has going now.

I wouldn't mind at all if he got his national gig and Employee #8 took his spot.

But if #8 is anything close to broke, I wish he'd get himself to Europe for a season or two and give himself a little extra security while he's still capable of competing at that level.

if tommy got replaced by donny i would have to kill myself.  that would be like remy getting replaced full time by dave roberts.  it is bad enough when they fill in.
