AI's main beef is not playing in crunch time of a close game.

If he was playing 25-30 minutes and with the game on the line, he wouldn't be bickering.

Are you kidding?

The most overrated player in NBA history would complain if they played him 42 minutes and he didn't start....Or he'd complain if he started and played 36...etc etc etc  He would complain if the team was winning and he wasn't getting his rendition of his share of touches...Notice he's not complaining about losing...He doesn't care.

It's amazing that anybody understands what he says....He's for the most part incoherent.

So is his game.

Actually he is complaining about losing, straight from the article:

Quote
Iverson wanted to clarify that he wouldn’t complain if the Grizzlies were winning. But they didn’t, and they aren’t.

“If we’re winning, I can play 10 minutes and I’m happy,” he said. “When we’re losing, that’s when I trip out.”

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

.....Like in Detroit...Like in Denver....Like in Philly?

His words, incoherent as they are, mean nothing.  I didn't bother to read the article.  I listened to his words...Thankfully with a caption so I had an interpreter.

Iverson is awesome and entertaining, keep doin' you AI, Springfield awaits your retirement.

Sadly, you're probably right.  Cancers like Iverson, Carter, O'Grady, etc will make it to the hall of shame...DJ won't.

Hall of fame is about as meaningful and legitimate as the nobel peace prize.

AI was feeling it and then they took him out in crunch time...I was very confused by the rotations of Hollins. He had Demarre Carroll in the game, who is a fringe NBA player. There was literally a possession where the Grizz could run out the clock for the last shot and AI still wasn't in the game: Hollins is clueless.

When did he ever complain in Philly or Denver when they were winning?

I thought the Gasol trade made sense with the direction Memphis was going.  I still do.  The other Gasol is a very servicable player.  But how any GM, after the predictable disaster that Iverson was last year with a rookie coach, would put this idiot with (essentially) a rookie coach again, speaks to Wallace's lunacy.

Wallace, like Dumars last year, wants to throw a season away but put people in seats.   Why anybody would this idiot anywhere near a young team is incomprehensible.

Ya, AI just wanted to be on the floor to help his team win.

If the team won with AI on the bench, he'd have no problem, but it's the Memphis freaking Grizzlies.

There is a high chance that the Grizzlies will not win....period...haha.

The Gasol trade made sense, if it was just about money.

The could have gotten a better package of players back. What didn't make sense was the awful Zach Randolph trade, they used all their cap space from the Gasol deal to get a worse PF with a contract that's just as big....

Teams should start him and stop the circus. They're shooting themselves in the foot by not starting him. One, he's better than the person replacing him. Two, the team and the coaches know he won't like it, and know he won't keep quiet about it... so why do it?

Curry was a disaster in Detroit, and the way he handled Iverson was one of his many mistakes. Memphis can't be this idiotic.

Even Richard Hamilton ripped on Mike Curry, so whatever happened with AI in Detroit is not valid evidence.

So in my mind, the AI+Detroit era is erased. AI, when healthy is still a starting and productive NBA player with star power.

My position on allen is well known, former great player who's one time strength, never backing down, is tarnishing his legacy now that father time has caught up and he won't adapt.

But, even i thought he might get through a week or so before complaining.

It's his first freaking game and he's already complaining.  One game!  And he's been out with an injury until this point.  I guess he's never heard of easing someone back in the rotation after they've been out.  For the sake of the team and not aggravating the injury.  He's a piece of work.
