For all the talk about how amazing CP3 is (mostly coming from CP3 himself), I can't get over the fact that the guy has accomplished nothing.  In his career, the Hornets are a .556 team.  In his career, when he's been absent, they are 12-12, a .500 team.  CP3 can throw his teammates under the bus, but he's not on a brutal team, there is talent around him, and he needs to stop (indirectly or directly) blaming his supporting cast if he's truly a premier player.

The team around him is going down.

The wings are aging and regressing.  The backup PG is no longer the same quality.

Even the C is not as good of a fit with Paul anymore.

The past team when Peja was shooting well and staying healthy is not the same team as now.

Most of those games came in his first two years, when he wasn't as established has he's been in the last 2, and the players at that time were better than the ones currently on the roster.

Last year he missed 4 games. They went 2 and 2. The two wins were against Toronto and Minnesota... they lost against Memphis without him.

The previous year he missed 2 games. Again, won against Minnesota.

I don't think this proves anything on how good of a team they're without him. Luck of the draw of easy opponents during the stretch he wasn't playing explains most of it.

I really don't understand the overall over-analysis and rationalizations people are coming up with to discredit CP3 as a player. He's an extremely good player through and through.

He's a heck of a talent but he needs to grow up and put this behind him.  (Same goes for Rondo).

This whole "incident" should be put to rest.  It was just two very competitive guys getting into it and probably going a little too overboard with the trash talk.  It happens.

I read the piece. Woj blames everyone except the ball boys for NO losing. If I am CP3 I like it but if I am one of the Hornets, I would be insulted. This piece will not go well in the Hornets locker room.

CP3 is a great guard.   This league, however, is full of great players who never win a ring...

What is the point of this piece masquerading as objective journalism? Paul isn’t the first great player stuck on a bad team. Boohoo why should Rondo (and the rest of us) care? I doubt the author or the rest of NBA were crying Pierce a river a few seasons ago.

Rondo didn't stumble on the Big 3. The team kept him over the other PGs around so clearly they saw him as more than a warm body who randomly happened to be around for the starting job.  Ugh I'm truly irritated I wasted my time on this.

Both players were out of line with their post-game shenanigans so keeping this bad telenovela alive and making Rondo the villain is ludicrous. I’m sure poor meek little Chris didn’t do any trash talking himself and quietly went about his business as that big bully Rajon said mean things.

Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Chris Paul needs to stop crying or get emotional. Pro athletes have to know how to take verbal abuse , keep calm and execute.

Rondo should have restraint himself in the end of the game but i like his new found attitude. He won't make too many friends around the league but his performance will get better

True about CP3, but Rondo can be a bit of a "punk" at times.  I just wish Rondo direct his "punkness" towards the Lakers.  CP3 or the Hornets for that matter, is/are not a threat.

Whether he said anything or not, we all know he plays a little dirty.  Amazing that none of this made it into the article.   ::)

If this is the new defintion of "punk" in the nba now, larry bird, danny ainge and the entire bulk of the 80's teams were well past it on a nightly basis.

I for one don't care about anything but the bump after the game, which was to far. But, from other things floating around, it seems like paul was complaining to pierce about rondo.

If i had a problem with someone and they decided to talk about it to a third party with me nearby instead of addressing me like a man, I would be upset too. The shoulder block was still unnescarry, but i dont really care that much.

Non-issue, i'm glad to see rajon asserting himself against other top PG's. I don't see anyone calling KG a punk when he talks trash to every single opposing PF in the league on a nightly basis, nor paul when he gets into it with the likes of q-rich.

Two competitive guys going at each other and it got slightly out of hand. nothing to see here.

Anybody else think this is hillarious?

Quote
Hornets coach Byron Scott heard Paul insist that Rondo “is gonna respect me as a man,” and soon Paul started on his way down the corridor to tell the Celtics point guard himself.

Seriously though, the guy is one step away from referring to himself in the third person.

I really don't get what the big deal is about the "is gonna respect me as a man" line, considering that here in the forum itself many get offended by the tiniest things.

He is a very good player, there is no denying that.  But he is not an elite player, and he wants to be considered one.  His little rants and outbursts are comical.  I strongly dislike CP3 and I am enjoying seeing him come down a notch, b/c I do feel his perceived value has exceeded his actual value.
