http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yl4zedd ;D The Hornets have an Identity crisis. Ship back Posey, release scal (so he'll come back to the c's), keep tony and jr if you wish... lol :o ;)

No thank you, we have a backup SF already. I'd rather have the money to make a run and signing Ray Allen after this season than have Posey's deal on the books.

He is still signed for more years then the Celtics want.

That's what it comes down to.  By signing Rondo to an extension and adding Rasheed, the team doesn't really have any payroll flexibility to take on bad contracts.

I'm with you:  the team should put its resources toward resigning Ray.

If and when the Hornets throw in the towel on the season, Posey would be available for expiring contracts.  I think it would take a marginal prospect at this point in time.  But yeah, in a few months I'd love to give up Scal/TA and Walker or Giddens for Posey.

People need to get over it, Posey won't be back to Beantown any time soon due to his contract. We got Daniels for cheap and he is doing really well for us, no need for melancholy now IMO

In a playoff rotation, there isn't room for Posey and Daniels.  While you could make the argument that Posey is better (though it certainly doesn't look like it right now), he's not 5-6 million dollars worth of better.

No one on this board appreciated Posey's contributions more than yours truly.

But I don't see the need for him on this team. His skillset is redundant.

They WANT out of Posey's deal. Posey has really regressed, but I'd take him for the expiring pu pu platter if they throw in Julian Wright. Legit 3 backup.

Definitely agree CoachBo.

Loved Pose when he was here and wanted him to resign but with the way the team is built now there is no need for him. And he hasn't looked that good thus far, which is too bad. Hate seein him losing in NO.

Yeah, I'd love Wright here, too.  I don't think New Orleans will move him, though.

Yeah, I think Wright is part of the reason they would be willing to give up Posey.  Between Wright and Peja (who no one is going to take), they are set at SF.  This means that Posey has been playing out of position at SG (BTW, when you are starting Mo Pete at SG, at this point in his career, you know you are in trouble).

If they trade for anyone, it should be for Nochioni.  That would let Boston go legitimately 10 deep.

Daniels - PG
House - SG
Noc - SF
BBD/Sheldon - PF
Sheed - C

That lineup could probably grab the 6th or 7th seed in the playoffs all by itself.

I can't think of two players I would want less than Posey and Nocioni.

Oh wait, I forgot about Dan Gadzuric and Yi Jianlian.

Why do some people want to tinker with a 70-win team to acquire someone else's overpaid garbage?
