Ok. So far we've played a couple playoff teams(Cleveland,NewOrleans) and they've been handled quite easily. Also, BBD has had no effect on either game, so to me he seems expendable, especially since KG is looking great. Sheed looks good, and Sheldon seems to be filling in just fine. We always got Scal as a dependable backup for those limited minutes. So for my argument, I say this trade makes great sense for both sides.

BBD gives NJ more front court depth along with Lopez. He's got a chance for greatness at some point, and his contract is shorter than Yi's.
Yi gives us more flexibility to play both SF and PF. And with the available minutes not being alot(with our starters all healthy) Yi wouldn't have a ton of minutes to fail. 7 foot shooter with tons of talent.
Package Giddens in there and you open up a roster spot plus save them another mil next year for the Lebron sweepstakes.
Can't stop, Rondo!

OH. NO. NO NO NO.

Sorry.

No.

I can't...I can't be courteous about this.

Hate Yi's game. HATE it.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Hard to have an effect when you're not playing...

He's got a chance for greatness at some point, and his contract is shorter than Yi's.

In what world does Glen Davis have a chance for greatness?

Yi gives us more flexibility to play both SF and PF.

And do both poorly, like a scrub

....What.

Why should the Celtics give up a good player to get a bad player?

Yi's injured atm. Even if he's not, I still wouldnt. Only reason I pointed out Yi's injured caze there seems to be a fair amount of early season injury/suspension at the moment mmmm
Anything is possible!!!

I don't want to make anyone mad, and as most of you have noticed i'm not a big trade thread guy. But..... this is just stupid.

This is a legitimate consideration for the reasons the OP presented: NJ likes BBD, and we have a greater need for a player like Yi right now than a player like BBD, or so goes the argument. While I would rather have BBD, when healthy, because he has demonstrated alot more guts than Yi as a pro, I would still consider the trade.

I'm down for it.  I don't like Yi's game, but I like it better than BBD's.  Perhaps the chinese fan influx can help pay for Rondo's extension too.

Remember when Yi dribbled around the chair during draft workouts?  Set the world on fire ;D  No seriously he has some talent but I worry if he has a pulse.  Doesn't seem to play with much heart.

Yi is soft, is mainly about hismelf, is a single threat with his shot, and is a huge defensive liability.

BBD is tough, has bought into the team system/philosophy, and is a legit triple threat (ok he's not beating many guys off the dribble, but he can get a guy to leave his feet and take the ball to the rack).

Trading tougness for softness is the exact opposite of what i'm intersted in.

I think the softest guy on the team is Tony Allen and he needs to be shipped. I'm pretty sure you've got everyone's support on a Tony Allen for Yi swap.
