How about "Ping-Pongapalooza"?  This is a crucial night for teams jockeying for lottery position.

Yeah, Ping-Pongapalooza.  Good one.  Brings back (bad) memories of the not-so-distant-past!

yes those games appear weak....however, personally i enjoy watching teams that NEVER are on tv.  im sick of watching a game (thats not a celtics game) and having one of the teams being the cavs, lakers, or magic.  i like seeing the crappy teams sometimes, and it makes it more "exciting" when the opposing team isnt too good, as it makes for a competitive game.  thats just me.

Amen and hat tip to you too Bass Thumper.  There's all sorts of individual achievement, promise, head to head play that we miss in the second and third tier teams.  Steve Weinman's contributions helped keep those battles exciting by keeping tabs on those other players we rarely see (and that I don't have time to follow).  Yeah, a game between two noncontenders can still be a great game.

i picked memphis to make the playoffs. is that nuts?

Absolutley Bonkers  ;D

Nah, they definently have individual skill. There are just way too many ego's to deal with in order to make that team click.

They put up some big numbers the other night.  Interested to seewhat kind of minutes Iverson gets tonight...and going forward.

I agree.. Memphis is an interesting team to me. They could just as easily be a playoff team as they could be a train wreck. I'd say they're closer to a train wreck, though.

Mayo and Rudy Gay have been fighting according to recent reports and Iverson seems to kill teams whenever he gets there. But then again, how much more damage could he do to Memphis? They could use any help they can get at this point.

Luckily it looks like the Other Gasol is stepping up, he's been putting in good numbers thus far into the early season. He looks really good. Making that LA-Mem trade look a lot more balanced.

Crash with a great game for the Bobcats... 24 points, 20 rebounds and 4 steals.  Of course, this probably isn't so much a positive for him as it is a condemnation of the Nets on the glass.  Crash is a very good rebounder for an SF, but no wing should ever get 20 boards.  Ever.

Need D-Will to have a big scoring game tonight... I've had two doody awards in the first six days of the PAPOUPG.
