Lakers and C's will win 70+ games = Epic Finals

I honestly believe this could happen. These two teams are absolutely loaded with talent and I don't see them losing to many games.

Lakers = Kobe + Gasol are almost equal to Jordan and Pippen, but the Lakers have so much more talent than that 72 win bulls teams. Artest  is probably a better version of Dennis Rodman as the 3rd star on the team and then add Odom and a developing Bynum to the mix , along with a vet leader like Derek  Fisher that team is really strong. Oh yea Phil Jackson has done it beore ,so you know if anyone can do it it's Phil.

Celtics = I also think the C's will win 70+. They already won 66 2 years ago and 62 last year ( with KG missing 30+ games). This team is much more talented than the championship team of 2008. The starting 5 already have a championship under their belt, but now have even more chemistry . Rondo and Perk have developed into 2 of the best defensive players in the league and Rondo is soon to be a top 5 PG. Daniels is pretty much equal to Posey from 2008, but Rasheed is such an improvement off the bench over anyone the C's had on the 2008 roster(PJ Brown, BBD Rookie year, Powe 2nd year). Eddie house is a top 5 pure shooter in the league and when BBD comes back we could be looking at one of the best benches in NBA history.


I am calling it now, both the C's and Lakers will win 70+ to set up and epic NBA Finals.

Wouldn't that be awesome, though? Even though I think the Lakers may have an easier path to the Finals than the Celtics.

As long as the C's are hoisting the trophy at the end, it's all good!

However, the odds of one of them, nevermind both, winning 70+ games are very slim. 

So many variables in an NBA season; injuries, loss of focus for a short span, opposing teams getting hot, etc...  Its a loooong season.

It'd be quite the story but I don't see it happening.

Celtics - definitely possible ... Lakers - no way. Sorry, but they're just not as good as everybody thinks, and not that deep. If they win 62 they'll surprise me ... they have talent, yes, but they are not a team, and have too many egos to ever function like one on a consistent basis.

Well I really think the C's have the best shot at winning 70+ because they are trying to be the best defensive team of all time. You know they are going to bring it every night, especially with KG directing everyone. If they are playing great defense, not to many teams are going to  beat them because they have so much fire power on offense from 1-9 on the roster.

Agreed.  The Lakers just aren't that good.
