I was reading the Lakers Preview in the front page of the Cs Blog and I have to admit there are some good points made about the Lakers versatility.  Which brings me to the Poll question.

In terms of players - from 1 thru 10 - It could be argued this is the deepest team Phil Jackson ever coached....or close to it?

One thing is for sure, Phil is a very lucky coach and finds himself in the middle of great situations.  Talented and lucky; what a combination!!  >:(

Any ways, I think it's probably a hard call, and I think it's between the 1996-1999 Bulls and the 2009-2010 Lakers....and I give the slight edge to......  :-X

It's one of the Lakers teams - look at the rosters for those Bulls title teams.  They had guys that STARTED (ie Longley) that would be the 10th or 11th guy on the Celtics' or Lakers' roster today.  And besides Kukoc, the bench was shockingly weak for a title team - Jud freaking Buechler got significant minutes.  I'd say it's this bunch to be honest, though a lot of that depends on whether good Bynum shows up every night and if Shannon Brown was a fluke or not.

Excellent points.  I keep forgetting how deep that 2000-2003 was.  Yep, those old teams weren't as deep.  And yes, I am considering that ABynum is going to give you no less than what he did last season.

Those Bulls teams.

Those benchs were just perfect for that team.  Three point specialists.  Big men that could defend and rebound.

Lakers bench is so overhyped.  Just think how over hyped it was in the playoff two years ago.  Celtics bench out played them because it had role players that fit.

Lakers bench has a lot of over hyped names, not the best fit role players.

TP.
The Lakers seem deep because they go deep in the playoffs.  But whose really on their bench? Farmar, Mbenga, Walton, Sasha, S. Brown?  Not that impressed.  I would take Steve Kerr, in his prime, for any one of those Lakers guys.
Celtics fan for life.

None of those teams were particularly deep. Solid benches rather than great benches.

I'm tempted to give it to this LA team just because Odom is on their bench.

Tough call. Not much between them.

Any team including Michael Jordan of the early to mid 90s is deeper than the current Lakers.

Just wait till we face the Lakers this year if we're healthy. Our bench will expose there's with ease. It's all about Kobe and Pau. You heard it hear.

With that, I voted for the 90-93 Bulls team.

I think that in a round-and-about way, depending upon how ponduits rank this Phil Jackson team, history will rank the team who beats them....your 2009-2010 Boston Celtis.  Obiously if we beat a crapy team, no one in Springfield will remember the 2009-2010 Cs.

Yeah, I remember that 1990-1993 Bulls team.  People forget how big that team was. BCartwright, HGrant, Pippen in the front line...that's pretty good even for today stuff.
