Really, really ugly sequence for Giddens.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Giddens is just all over the place.  I'm surprised he isn't called for travel a lot more, he shuffles his feet before putting the ball down quite a bit.

Lester looks good.  Seems to be in control, and really seems to put in an effort on hounding his man on defense.

TP thats the difference right thier.

JR clearly has athletic ability, but he seems to have no idea what to do with it (see last two possessions) lester seems to know his role and stick to it. He's more consistent.

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
My fear is that JR is just TA with elite rebounding abilities for a guard. I hate seeing him fly through the air trying to block jump shots.

This will shock some people...  but Tony is quite a bit better than J.R.  I wonder a bit if Tony is J.R.'s upside.  A scary thought, I know.

I think Williams is the BBD replacement we have been looking for.

Disagree. Williams has no offensive game.

And once Scal is back I expect him to be the 4th big, not Williams.

I hope not. I like that Sheldon works the boards. We don't need Scal and Sheed out beyond the 3 point line.

Agreed. I've been happy with what Williams brings to the floor inside. He's earning minutes, not losing them.

Well, we can quibble about what's right and what's wrong, but Scal played pretty well last playoffs and I don't expect Doc to let Sheldon displace him on the depth chart unless he dramatically outplays Scal.

Plus, I think Scal is closer to Baby in terms of offensive game than Shelden.  It might be better for preparing the team for what's eventually going to happen come playoff time (when neither Scal nor Shelden is going to get off the bench).

The pass, Lester made to Williams, is a tough angle. Very impressive. :)

AIRBALL. JR. Followed by a foul out of frustration. He's pitiful.

I wouldn't go that far... ::)
Why the eye roll. He airballed the ball on an overshoot by a clear 18 inches then when flying out of control and picked up a foul and then had a stiff go by him for a layup like he wasn't even there.

His play this game has been beyond awful. And that's being objective. I have no anti-JR slant. Never have. I hate Tony Allen's game and JR makes Tony look really really good.

Sheldon is looking better and better by the minute.

Perfectly servicable, indeed. Just don't expect him to catch in close without a bounce pass  ;)
