So since I'm mentioning your twitter feed, am I at the top or amongst 5569 other mentions somewhere near the top?But on to basketball! Aren't the Celtics (getting older), Lakers (getting older, crazier and Bynum still hasn't done it for a season) being vastly over rated/praised compared to Cleveland (got younger/better and still have LBJ) SA (added scoring and depth and Manu, albeit aged another year) and Orlando (at worst they stayed the same)...people are saying that Bos v LA is a foregone conclusion, not saying they're not worthy, but it's a 5 team dogpile until someone disproves something isn't it?

I think you've got a point. I"m worried about Ron Artest's effect on the team. He can be selfish and unstable. I think it's asking a lot for him to do neither all season. Celtics are very, very good if everyone's healthy, but the word out of Boston is that KG's only 60% and Rondo, despite the public posturing, isn't happy with the summer smackdown that he was put through. I'm picking the Magic to win it all. But yes, the Spurs and Cavs are very legit threats.

Where does Ford get this stuff from? Anyone has watched any pre seson games could see that KG is at least 85-90%. He was all over the court on defense making steals and blockS. He is a lot closer to 100% than 60%, Chard Ford is so off on this one...

Anybody who has watched KG play knows that he's much, much healthier than 60%.  Seriously, add another 40% to KG's current game, and you're talking best player in recent NBA history.

I am mentioning the twitter feed... Mr. Ford, I was disappointed with how you misinterpreted the Celtics-Rondo situation on twitter, calling it "ANOTHER hit job" by Doc Rivers. For one, Rondo has responded to the summer "stuff" with remarkable maturity thus far. Maybe Doc and Danny have a better pulse on the situation than your speculation. And two, the Celtics will address many things after this season, and I am sure Ainge will evaluate Ray Allen's situation, Pierce's, and even KG, in addition to Rondo. Perhaps Danny and Doc needed to use a different medium this summer to get through to Rondo, and it seemed like so much of Danny's honesty was taken out of context, and not given equal weight to Danny's praise of Rondo. What we do know is Danny and Doc have called Rondo the best player in training camp, and then you take Doc's recent tongue in cheek comments out of context. What do YOU think their strategy was/is?

Chad Ford  (1:10 PM)

Can you think of another team who has publicly taken multiple shots at their young, potential franchise player ... even if they were tongue in cheek? Could you imagine the Cavs doing it to LeBron? Or the Hornets to Chris Paul? Or even the Nuggets to Carmelo Anthony? Players are sensitive and I have it on very good authority that Rondo was VERY hurt by what went down this summer. Word's just come in that he won't be signing an extension ... unless the Celtics come up with big time money for him next summer, he's going to find a way to leave.

I'm willing to bet Chad Ford sits at the computer in the chatroom all day eating twinkies and drifting in and out of sleep.

He clearly didn't watch any games the last couple weeks. KG looked good, he was going and getting ally-oops and had a couple vicious dunks, on top of looking like KG on defense.

Apparently Chad Ford's NBA League Pass feed comes in a bit fuzzy on the island that is Hawaii.

Have to agree, this summer's rondo situation was not handled well at all, no matter how you try to spin it.

Is there a more arbitrary statistic than an athlete's healthy percentage?

If he's 60% healthy and he gives 110% effort does that mean we're getting 66% efficiency from KG?  Or does it work in reverse - at some cutoff of health % you actually start being more detrimental the more effort you put in? (see Mike Lowell circa 2008 playoffs)

I want answers...Chad?
Yup

i agree. i know why they did it but i think it was a failure. in the best case scenario they now sign rondo for a minimum of 70mil after the knicks offer him something stupid, and in the worst case they lose him, either next summer or the summer after. Why not just sign him to a 60mil deal now?

I think the operative word in that statement is "potential".  The Rondo who played in the first round against the Bulls is a franchise player.  The guy who mailed in it vs. Orlando is a franchise killer.  Given the massive rebuilding the Cs will be doing 2 to 3 years from now, I'd be wary of giving a seeming headcase like Rondo the keys the kingdom as well.

I agree that the summer stuff with Rondo was a botched job by the Celtics.

I also agree that Ford is a dumba$$.

I was at the Knicks-Celtics game sitting courtside.

KG is 100% there is nothing wrong with him he soared for an Alley oops and a dunk through the line. He is fine, I watched his every move.

He's back, where does he get this crap from?

agreed. If that's what Chad Ford considers 60% then I hope Pierce and Ray are also at 60% by the time the playoffs begin. Heck, I hope I can be at 60% too.

Well Chad's put himself out there as to my worst case views of this offseason.

I don't think either of his claims are accurate, but time will tell.
