I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but he looks a little heavy to me. I think he will still be a big part of this years championship, just a little disappointed he didn't come in to camp in a little better shape.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Would you say he looks more sluggish than heavy? that's the impression I get.

I agree, he looks a little heavy to me.  He's been balding for years.  I guess by the end of his contract in Boston he will be old, bald and fat...
So long as he also has another ring on his finger, I won't care much.  :-\
Celtics fan for life.

He doesn't look to be 100% in shape; he's appeared winded at times, for sure.

Still, he's overall looked pretty good, and I'm sure he'll only get better as he plays his way into shape.

He might have gained alittle weight. But by the time game 10 rolls around he should be back to his old self. All though it could just be the green uni.

He looks thinner than last year.  He's got a soft body, though.  The Pistons would call that sluggishness laziness.

Sheed looks ready.

If you play in the NBA for 15 seasons, I would not call that lazy.  Lazy would be retirement and NBA2k10 and lots of BEEER.

If Sheed is lazy, than I am a sloth.

He looks lighter than last year. So take that for whatever it's worth. I firmly believe that what you see right now with Sheed is what we are getting, give or take a few pounds and a little more wind.

I think Sheed looks in pretty good shape but over the last few years he has usually started off in great/best shape and gradually declined as the season goes on.

So we'll see how well his body holds up as the year goes on.

I think he's just gotten older and isn't in as good of shape because of that.

I think this is pretty much the Sheed we're getting.

He looks a bit heavier than he was in his prime, but he is moving just fine.  In reality, I think he is just about the same size as he has been for the last 2-3 years.

Wallace has the Scalabrine-type physique where he never looks that in shape.  He looks about the same to me.

Maybe closer to the Paul Pierce physique, where he just doesn't get "cut" like other guys.  But the point remains the same.

Yeah, it isn't easy for 36 year old bigs with a ton of mileage on them to balance off-season conditioning with proper rest in preparation of a long season.  This is what pre-season is for.....to get the players ready for the regular season. He'll be fine....just defend, space the floor on offense while mixing in an occasional post-up against certain mismatches.
