So, the woman bought be an iTouch for my birthday. Did not see that one coming at all.

Any owners out there have any suggestions for cool apps or games to download?

I have games on mine and enjoy most of them. Paper Toss, Beer Pong, and Table Tennis are some really cool games. I recommend those.

You should look into these.. and i'll give reasons or descriptive words.

Pandora - if you are anywhere where there is free wifi you can use pandora and listen to any type of music you like for free. Select a song or artist and it will play their music and all music that is like/similar to that music.

Other programs also good if you're going to be near wifi; all the social networking ones, facebook, twitter, AIM
Shazam - listens to a song, then tells you what song is and the artist etc., weatherbug, All free..

Papertoss - if you are bored out of your mind. free.

I use all these on my iphone... so i never have to worry bout the internet, but you can get em' all on the itouch, i'm pretty sure

I like Sportacular for my sports scores and such.  I've heard that a friend has an ESPN app that is good too but haven't tried it.

Get the T-Pain app.

Its like three dollars, but its pretty cool and worth some laughs.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

The Facebook app is nice.  Check out MacWorld for app reviews:  http://www.macworld.com/appguide/index.html and this one too has lots of reviews of various apps:  http://www.touchmyapps.com/

I recently d/l "Four In A Row"; it's a connect 4 clone and it's free.

kind of depends what you're into/what you need but as mentioned, pandora's great. last.fm has a similar player. i actually use both.

get phoneflicks if you use netflicks so then when you think of a movie, or someone tells you about a movie you can add it to your cue right then and there.

the facebook app is nice. if you use twitter i'd recommend tweetie.

yelp has a good app if you like using their web site generally.

i forget whether the skype app works for the touch. if so, get it, cause then you have a phone!

All great suggestions so far.  I would also add the following:

ooTunes - It is an app that streams almost any radio station that has an online stream.  I recently relocated from Boston to Michigan for work and I can listen to WEEI (or any other station for that matter) on my way in to the office.  There are other radio streaming apps, but in my experience this is the best one.  I think this one was $2.99.

Last.fm is like Pandora but does not have the 40 hour restriction per month.  Pandora offers better music and a better interface though, but it couldn't hurt to have both.  This one is free.

For a game, DoodleJump is awesome.  It is painfully addictive and very simple.  Trust me on this one.  I think this one was $.99.

I have to specifically echo the fact that the Facebook app, Ragdoll Blast and GeoDefense Swarm are all absolutely must have apps.

One last thing, for anyone tho has league pass (I don't, but am considering it), there is a $40 app that allows you to stream games to your ipod/phone.  Havent heard much in the way of reviews but it sounded pretty interesting.

You could cough up some dough and get the NBA league pass, or PM me if you want to know a cheaper way to get it.  ::)
