The Timberwolves will be without forward Al Jefferson indefinitely because of an injured Achilles' tendon.

Minnesota is already without forward Kevin Love for six to eight weeks because of a broken bone in his hand.

Jefferson didn't practice on Monday because of a sore Achilles after the injury limited him to just six minutes against the Bucks on Saturday night.

"It all depends on ... the treatments and the medication and whatever they're doing for him," coach Kurt Rambis said of Jefferson. "It all depends how quickly it affects it."

Unfortunately, it's looking like Big Al may be one of those guys who always has problems with his legs and feet.  I hope I'm wrong, because he's one of my favorite players in the league.

I feel for Big Al, dealing with injuries and being stuck on a team that is years away from sniffing the playoffs.  That being said, news like this does make the KG trade look better and better for us.  Regardless, though, I wish him a speedy and full recovery.

Let's hope its nothing too serious and he bounces back fast.

That's a shame.

Yeah.  Let's also hope the Twolves take a long view here, and don't rush him back.  The achilles isn't something to trifle with.

Any word on which foot. Wasn't the surgery he had on his foot in his second season down in the Achilles area? Or was that an ankle? Man my memory sucks sometimes.

Here, I know he had a problem with bone chips in the ankle (which was notoriously misdiagnosed).  He also had a torn meniscus in his right knee while with us.  Later in Minnesota, he tore his ACL in his right knee.

That sucks.  I really like Big Al, I want to see him get a lot of action this year.  He deserves to have a good season and get recognition with an All-Star berth or something.  Hopefully he isn't perpetually limited by injuries.

T'Wolves have traded a second round pick to Dallas for Nathan Jawai, to soften the blow of losing both Love and Big Al. Seems it could be a long year for the Wolves.

I don't know.  I'm no Dr., but this thing seems like it might keep him out a week or two.  You guys might be overreacting.  Hope so.

If the Timberpuppies have Love and Big All out for a very long stretch of this season, at least they will have an excuse for sucking and appearing to be tanking the season from the get go to get a good draft pick next year to entice big name FAs to come play there(not they many would go to Minny). I don't see what teams like NJ, NY, the Clippers, and Phoenix, who I think will all be tanking mightily all season to get a very high pick, excuses will be!

Imagine if Minny gets the #1 pick and feels obligated to select John Wall.  Then they'll have the rights to 3 lottery pick point guards.
