Sports bar in Pittsburgh. There will probably be a mix of Cavs/Celtics fans.

Translation: Celtics fans and guys who like Lebron.

Or people that jumped on the Celtics bandwagon in 2007.

This is a fair request, and i promise i will not judge any person only as a Celtics fan, if you will constantly remind yourself that some of my generation judges people by their race, their belief, or the color of their skin and that this is no more right than saying all Celtics fans are drunken Irish dockworkers or bandwagon fans.

bada ba ba ba ba da da da ....

Don't you think it's strange..that there's a way....of how you look and how you act and how you think...pretend they're not the same as you

sorry, but I do love that song and it was the first thing that came to mind

But there weren't a whole lot of people rocking Celtics jerseys outside of NE before 2007.

I'm not sure about that.  Even in an abysmal 2007 season, Paul Pierce's jersey was the #13 seller in the NBA, and the Celtics sold the 6th most merchandise.  In 2004-05, the Celts ranked 5th.

Also, in terms of bandwagoners, the Celtics have always had the largest fan presence on the internet (in terms of blogs, fan pages, etc.)  Say what you want about the Boston fan base, but there are more hardcore Celts fans than probably any other fan base in the NBA.

(Also, it's interesting that a Cavs -- or at least, Lebron -- fan comes to Celticsblog and accuses us of being bandwagoners.  That seems like fairly trollish behavior.)

Never accused anyone of being a Celtics bandwagoner. I was just pointing out the fact the sports bar was in Pittsburgh not Cleveland or Boston. The fans wearing Celtics jerseys could easily just have been bandwagoners like the people wearing Lebron jerseys.

In my experience if a guy is wearing a celtics jersey outside of new england, there is a pretty good chance that he's pretty passionate.

Uh huh.  Watch the borderline trolling.  You made up facts, got called on it, and now are playing the "what?  me?" card.  This seems to be a fairly consistent pattern with you.

I wasn't looking to troll at all. All I stated was that the game was at a Pittsburgh bar. And a Celtics fan decided to make a blanket statement about all Cavs fans. I did the same thing for Celtics fans before 2007, I will admit that. I never accused anyone here of being a bandwagon fan though. Don't know where you got that idea from. All im saying is that the people at the sport could just as easily be Cavs fans as they are Celtics fans. Pittsburgh is neutral city when it comes to NBA teams. I was just stating from my experience, I never saw anyone wearing Celtics jerseys or talking about them until 2007. You can say the exact same thing about the Cavs. I was just trying to make a point.

I admit I'm a bandwaggoner. I'm from Hong Kong. I was always a big KG fan. Loved his game. I moved here end of 06. Still went to some games. I liked Paul Pierce and Big Al but wasn't really a "fan" just yet.

Then KG got traded. And it gave me a reason to go to the games, and I've been doing it since. Don't regret it.

There's nothing wrong with becoming a bandwagonner if it means that's the begging of your fandom with a franchise. As long as it doesn't fade.

TP for you GKC, the more the merrier. Welcome aboard.

I was a bandwagon fan in 1976. 33 years later, I'm still on the wagon. That's just the way it works.

Sounds like you've always liked quality basketball, and thus I don't really think you're a "bandwagon fan". :)
