I had a vision. The worst thing that could ever happen to CB


The Celts and Lakers go the NBA Finals. 

Sitting behind the Lakers bench all wearing Kobe jerseys and NY Yankees hats are Tom Brady, Obama, and Bill Russell

Brady says "I grew up in CA and I was always a Lakers fan"

Obama says "I always liked the Celts, but I like the Lakers more"

Russell says "For two black men like myself and Barak we gravitate more towards the Lakers due to the negative racial past in Boston"

Obama turns to Bill and says "You have to let it go Bill" and Bill says "I know. I know"

The media asks "What's with the hats" to which Obama states "They're just hats"

At half time of game 7 David Stern makes Obama an honorary referee due to his tremendous contributions to the game of basketball. Obama makes several bad key calls against the Celtics and the Celts lose by one point.

Bill Russell hands the trophy to Phil Jackson stating "This is for the greatest coach ever" and then kisses Kobe.

Reactions on CB are mixed. Redz immediately changes his avatar to a crying clown and bans himself for two months.

One thread emerges asking whether Brady should be allowed back in Boston to which most say yes.
Another thread starts posing the question of whether it was legitimate to allow Obama to referee a game, and can't we just be proud to have such a multi-talented president?
Another viscous thread emerges asking if Boston and the NBA in general is racist, and if Bill Russell has legitimate reasons for his actions. In the nearly two month course of these threads everyone on Cb is banned except Dark Lord and Jeff with Roy finally snapping and banning himself for calling Obama the anti-Christ, yet somehow everyone ends up with 100,000 TPs
Jeff starts a thread titled "Things just don't seem the same" and then locks the thread within the hour to which Dark Lord states he is voluntarily leaving.

Redz shows up the next day after his 2 month ban ends and immediately asks "Where is everyone? Did I miss something?"

I'm kinda bummed that I didn't get a direct mention in the CelticsBlog Book of Revelation.  I guess I can just take pleasure in being one of the many that got banned.  Yeah, it's not cool like being one of the 7 seals, the mark of the beast or the 4 horsemen of the apocolypse, but I'll take it.

While it does take a bit of the punch out of the punch line to explain a joke, I was making reference to the notion of me returning to CelticsBlog only to find it a blank abyss.

Oh, and the way:

....which all reminds me of one of my favorite jokes:

These guys had all been in prison together for a long time and a new inmate arrived.

When it was night and lights out, someone said, "16" and everyone cracked up. Someone else said "23" and people cracked up again. Someone else said "45" and everyone was rolling.

The new guy asked his cellmate what was going on and was told that they'd all been together so long, and knew all the jokes that instead of reciting the whole joke they'd numbered them.

Then someone yelled out "29" and nothing happened, no response. Again, "29" and no reaction. So the new guy asked his cellmate what was up and he said, "Well, you know, some people just can't tell a joke."
