No More Tony Allen.

What is wrong with Doc? Just when we think the TA nightmare was over. Here he comes with the second unit. Tony is still Tony nothing has changed. So please Doc & Danny <<NO MORE TONY>>

Disclaimer: Nothing against Tony the person. I just dislike the player.

Last night was not representative of his play. Tony has been away from the court for some time, in fact, he's barely practiced.

That being said, I thought it was a mistake to play him with the second unit last night. Seeing where "Tony is at" shouldn't be a priority at the moment. Last night he should've been at most playing with the 3rd unit. Once the season starts, that's a different ball game.

Since we've had Tony, he's ALWAYS been away from the court for some time.

full disclosure, i didn't see Tony last night, but from the comments on here, I can assume how he played.  I've seen him play before.

I think this really IS representative of his play.  I think what did not represent how he plays is that streak back in '06 that we all know when he went on that tear w/o PP in the lineup the 2 weeks before he blew out his knee.  I was all for him at that time, but now I wish those 2 weeks never happened.

I'm with the OP....PLEASE no more TA.

The only thing is that in big time regular season games and certainly in the playoffs, there isn't going to be a "second unit."  Doc is going to keep at least a couple of starters on the court at all times.  That means that the C's will likely be able to get by with just House, Daniels, Wallace, and maybe for a few minutes Davis.  Thus, Allen isn't going to play when it matters.

So if Allen is part of a "second unit" that gets in against the likes of the Nets and Clippers, I'm fine with that.  Though I agree with you that I never want to see him play in a meaningful game again.

Tony needs to leave, a fresh start somewhere else. And we need to give his minutes to someone else. Let's try with Giddens to see if he can play or not. He can't make it worse than Allen. Watching Allen play is painful now

I think they're "showcasing" him so a team as dumb as Memphis trades us a second rounder for him...

In a perfect world, I'd like to get a useful player for Scal and Tony's contracts. Unfortuantely this isn't one of those places, so I would be all over a Memphis second rounder for Tony. I'm willing to bet Danny could get a better player than Tony with a pick in the 30's.

I'm still hoping that's what happens. I don't want tony playing, but I'm not in a rush to trade him for a second rounder either.

That stumbling baseline drive to the basket when he had a wide open shot from the corner only to stuff himself on the backboard padding and then tumble backwards like one of the Three Stooges ought to raise a few eyebrows.   ::)
