SHyne Po, released today after serving a 10-year prison sentence for a 1999 shooting.

Here is a track he recorded while on the payphone with his producer:

Well now he has the credentials to run with the image, lol. I know he's going to try and come out with another album, but I don't know if the masses will eat it up like they used to in the 90's. Assuming he doesn't change his sound his next album is a flop... Calling it now.

I loved Shyne back in the day beforehe went away, and For The Record was a vicious diss track. Shyne is one of the few rappers you'd have to be really scared of, dude is legit. I can't find my favorite song by him on youtube, "Whatcha Gonna Do", but Bad Boys was a good song too.

I haven't heard this one for a while.  This is a great track.  I remember when I used to bump to this song with my Explorer and my two 12 inch subs.  The bass would shake the whole car.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Shyne was one of my top 5 rappers, but one decent album doesn't stay in your mind for 10 years.

I am going to watch this closely.

I thought it was cool that he did it, but I didn't think the album was good. Not on par with his debut, or even close.

You can do that?  Would he be Jewish then?  Also, since I don't know enough about Judaism, what is happening with the whole thing about Kenyan Jewish?  I heard there are some Kenyans, I believe, who are technically descendants of the Abraham, or one of his descendants, and are Jewish but the overall Jewish community wouldn't accept them due to lack of proof.  Either way, that's pretty cool, black Jews.

As always, it depends upon who you ask. Technically, we humans decide all this stuff, so it depends upon convention.

Many Orthodox Jews often do not accept conversions. More liberal Jewish groups are usually quite fine.

Like any religious or cultural group, there is a lot of variety among Jews. For example, Israel is an extremely secular country if you look at the average citizen. The right wing orthodox hawks are a minority, but a politically powerful minority.

Why would he change his name? Leviy? That's just weird. Since when do people change their names when converting to Judaism?

2 things:

#1) If we keep on this 'can people convert to Judaism' line, its gotta be in another thread in the current events forum. I would request that line of conversation stops in this particular thread immediately. Any further responses in this vein will be deleted.

#2) Please, in the name of whatever deity you worship, keep your responses civil, sensitive, and tactful. This isn't just any topic, it's one of a particular faith. The first over the top/bigoted/crass/thing I don't like that I see, I will lock the convo.

Thanks for understanding.
