It's creating a lot of buzz in the US, and even scared Steven Spielberg. Some critics are even labeling it the scariest movie of all time.

I'm definitely intrigued. Anyone else eager to see this?

I completely ignored this but the hype finally caught up with me. I very much want to see this movie.

The previews did not seem to scare me what so ever.

Hasn't today's society become de-sensitized to 'scary' on film?

The great scary movies are the one's that sneek up on you -- you went to the movie before the hype and left the theater stunned and creeped.  That happened to me 3 times -- The Exorcist, Jaws, and Poltergeist.  With today's hype machines so active, it's hard for a movie to live up to the anticipation.

Yeah part of me says "stop reading reviews and just see the darn thing before you know the entire plot"

The only movies that truly scared/creeped me out(as an adult, lol) are The Exorcist, and the Exorcism of Emily Rose.

To me there is a difference between "horror" movies. Some movies try to gross you out by showing you gruesome scenes (such as Hostel, the Saw movies, and the Michael Myers/ Jason movies). To me a truly scary movie is a movie that makes you leave the theater with a weird feeling. And when you get home you fall asleep with the tv on instead of off cuz u need the extra light in the room.  ;) lol

The ring didn't freak me out. I mean..sure I turned my tv around so if some creepy girl tried to crawl out of it she'd have to crawl into a wall...but seriously it didn't scare me.

Another Blair Witch, huh?

It's a fun style.  Blair Witch and Cloverfield weren't bad.

Eh I don't know, doesn't look like anything special to me.

In my opinion though, the best horror movie ever was The Shining.  Just something about the way Shelly Duval looked, those twins, and the long hall way shots.  Just creepy.

Tried looking for a trailer on youtube, and I guess there are a ton of custom made trailers on there, here's the scariest one I could find  ::)

(Seriously though, The Shining has my vote fot scariest movie ever).

I love that trailer. This one is scarier, but not as well done.

This movie looks like a cross between Blair Witch Project (attempt at raw footage) and the Saw series (hyped up beyond belief).

Horror movies these days are more like comedies for me. I'm the worst person to watch one with because I"m laughing the whole time. The "scarier" the movie the more cliche I find it really is.

The scariest movie I"ve ever seen was "Fire In The Sky".

Thoughts?

Wow, I never knew Marry Poppins could be so scary.  That was definitely a lil creepy.
