There was a video on the 9/30 CSNE  10PM Sports Tonight of him running. It's pretty clear that he's not running fluidly up and down the court.

http://twitter.com/celtics

"Today Garnett says he can't really reach a full sprint yet but that he's getting better every day. He ranked himself at about "85-90%"..."

but also

"I'm able to move laterally; recover when a guy makes a strong move. I can respond and react to that."

The latter is crucial, but he seems to have a hitch when he first starts running down the court. Thus, when he says he's 85-90%, I would look that as his ceiling as there's also the possibility that he (not the Cs) are covering up how much pain he's in. For now, I think we have to take him at his word that he's pain free, but sore (if that distinction makes sense).

I think we'll all have a better idea when we seen the practice on NBA.com on Sat 6PM EST (Sun 12AM NBA TV).

not good... lets see what else they let trickle out as the season gets closer and people start wondering why he isn't playing.

I think that's premature.

It's also obvious from the videos that he's much better than when he was injured last year, he runs well enough once he gets going, and he's taking a lot of repetitive jump shots without any noticeable effect once he lands. I haven't seen any tape of him playing defense, but he claims he's having no trouble whatever moving side-to-side  He played 100% Wednesday after playing 75% Tuesday before being pulled by Doc against his own wishes.

Unless KG's lying about his pain to the media and the C's, he looks like he's going to be playing 10/7. The caveat here is that KG did downplay his pain last year when he tried to come back, but that it was quickly obvious to Doc that he wasn't able to play. I don't get that sense at all from Doc currently, especially since he let him play all practice today.

Seriously - where the heck is the original?  But he certainly doesn't look like he's in any pain out there, which is good.  Only time will tell though.

I don't know if this has been posted but here's a quote from the Celtics twitter page

Quote
KG: "I'm most excited [about] defense. I'm able to move laterally; recover when a guy makes a strong move. I can respond and react to that."

Probably the best news I've heard. It is, after all KG's defense that we need the most. We can live without him scoring 20 points.

KG shooting the corner three in that vid, how funny would it be if he suddenly added that to his game?

This is way too vivid for me - I'm gonna have to film it playing on the CelticsBlog page and then watch the YouTube of that.   :)

Seriously though, thanks - TP.

I know that would be ridiculous if KG started taking 4 or 5 3s per game.
