At least they admit that the 2009 title wasn't fulfilling.

They should be.

This is like Frazier having the heavyweight title when Ali was gone.  He didn't go through the champ to get it (it was vacated) and his place in history wasn't really solidified until he finally did beat Ali after Ali came back (Frazier-Ali I)

Unlike that analogy, I hope that Ali (the Celtics) win when they finally do meet up.

They shouldn't find it fulfilling.  They didn't beat the best to win the title.  Makes them "paper" champions.

Perhaps we should petition Stern to add an asterisk next to the Fakers' 2008-9 championship once we wrap up this year's crown.  ;)

KG is the Celtics.  KG never participated in the playoffs so the CEltics never properly defended their title.   Lakers won by default.

At most I'll say that there are two rightful champions heading into this season (assuming KG is healthy)... should be interesting to see what happens.

That is a sweet video! I hope both sides are healthy! IF they meet again, the teams will be more talented, more physical, more will be on the line.

Lets get our title back!!! Go Celtics!!!

Bring it on... I'm dying to see those Laker fans in the front row at the Finals again. Just to see them leave after the second quarter.. AGAIN.

Quite candidly, I agree with Doc. I think Lakers would have beaten us even with a healthy Garnett. They outplayed us badly Christmas even though we were at full strength. They were the more determined team last year. Plus the loss of Posey and PJ.

This year is the rubber match. We have re-loaded. Bring it on.

We lost 92-83 on Christmas, and they were pretty much smacking us around in the 2nd half.  You are thinking of the Feb game in Boston, which we also lost.

I don't know about "pretty much smacking us around".  The score was tied 81-81 with 2:57 left in the game.
