My vote is with the Warriors, first Capt'n Jack wants a trade, now this;
Quote
Monta Says He Can't Play With Curry
Sep 28, 2009 5:59 PM EST
Monta Ellis does not believe he can share the floor with Stephen Curry.

"Us together? No," Ellis said. "Can't. We just can't. ... Just can't."

Ellis was then asked by a member of the media if he understands that the Warriors do believe the guards can play together.

"They say you can?" Ellis repeated. "They say you can ... but you can't. I just want to win and you're not going to win that way."

Ellis doesn't believe a comparison can be drawn to when he played with Baron Davis.

"It's different," Ellis said. "When you're trying to compare Stephen and you're trying to go back with me and Baron (Davis) playing. It's a different situation. You've got a nine-year veteran who has been in the game and understands the game and knows how to play the game and he's got a big body.

"You can't put two small guys out there and play the one and the two. You've got big two-guards in the league. You just can't do it. Yes, you're going to move up and down but eventually the game is going to slow down. You can't do it."

This team is going downhill fast.

My Darkhorse for this Race is Orlando. SVG with a player like Carter could spell disaster especially when it comes time blame someone for their downfall this season.  :P

I'm thinking Orlando as soon as Vince Carter goes down with an injury.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I hate to be the nay sayer but we should be on that list. We're old, we have 4 passionate and vocal personalities in our top six, and we have nothing but championship aspirations, that is to say there is a lot of pressure on these guys.

I mean I don't think we will, we invented Ubuntu (or NBA UBUNTU at least)...but you have to wonder with an injury here, Sheed takes a night off there..it's not like it's impossible, or any less likely than the Lakers.

Looking at the poll, my first thought was "where is LA"?

I think the two leading contenders are Golden State and Memphis.  That being said, what's the difference between those two "melting down" and playing as they normally do?  They'll still be lottery teams, either way.

I don't anticipate great things in Detroit this year, either.

normally i would go with this but phil jackson will zen them through kobe's bad attitude and ron artest speaking with aliens

Orlando...vince carter on paper sounds good but i think they take a step (or 2 ) back, not sure if that means meltdown though

I'm with Orlando.  I still don't like the addition of Carter and the loss of Hedu.

This just sets up a letdown year for that team.  I don't know how much a meltdown it'll be but whenever you have SVG as your head coach, the potential is there.

ORL is my top choice too. SVG is the biggest jerk I've seen as an opposing coach, DH and Nelson immature, and Vince Carter a top tier me-firster heretofore. My second choice would be some one like DET, WASH, or TOR. All teams that made a lot of changes which may not turn out and all teams with some raised expectations. Let's throw in Cleveland too with Shaq, the questionable Mike Brown, LBJ, DW, and the "where were you in the playoffs" Mo Williams as a dark horse

Which brings us back to GS. Who cares what they do? They're not going anywhere. Finally, If Artest implodes, the Fakers can over come it. Cs too with RW, but I don't think Wallace is really a locker room carcinogen based on any account I've heard.

The Pistons will be mediocre and either Rip or Gordon's going to be p---ed off.  They'll probably ask Rip to come off the bench, Gordon doesn't sign there unless he's promised a starting job, and that's not going to sit well with him.  Detroit melted down last year and I don't see them much improved this year; color me unimpressed with Gordon (not that much better than Rip, whose minutes he'll be taking) and Charlie V.

Trade Rip for Boozer, and it's a different story.

The Artest addition certainly increases the likelihood of a Lakers implosion; Artest can be the most selfish player in the league when he gets frustrated.  Might be fun to watch.

Golden State, the Curry Era is not starting well but I'm not sure expectations were terribly high to begin with.  Maybe they can trade S-Jax down to LA and reunited him with his old BFF.
