Daniels is pretty much crap at the moment.
How so?

Decent PER numbers. He outperformed opposing SGs when he played the 2. He'd be a good backcourt complement to House in that respect.
More importantly, if Daniels didn't shake out during the course of the regular season (trial run), he'd represent a nice expiring contract, larger than what Tony and Scal combined would represent.
Scal would certainly be a buyout candidate in Minnesota, and could return to Boston during the stretch run after having rested up during the regular season (a la PJ Brown).
2% of the minutes available at SG is not really a good sample in my opinion. And although a larger expiring, it also means that it would be more difficult to get rid off if he's not working out or if a better oppotunity presents itself.
And although that opposing PER might look good, his eFG% was bad. In all, he no longer can make much of an impact on the floor to overcome these shortcomings in my opinion (and he never was much of a floor general).
I'd rather keep TA (who much better defensively) on call, and with Marquis doing the ballhandling, TA's major weakness will be quite alleviated.
Daniels would be worth the look if he wasn't making $6 million or if we didn't have as many shooters on our team as we currently have. I just don't see what his real role for us will be other than fill up space. Go look for a vet. min. guy or just give Hudson a try if he's worth it I'd say.
Also, a year before that, when he was a better player, at the same 2% SG minutes, the opposing PER for SG was 15.4... not good. So don't read too much into that. He's weak defensively at the moment.
