I purposely tried to pick cold weather cities because I hate sweating, and I don't like air conditioning. It's just weird. But it's better than sweating. But I wouldn't want to live surrounded by air conditioning and no open windows all the time.

I tried to pick blue collar cities so I ranked Detroit higher than one would think. Culture and the beach counted for something.  Also good food.

I ranked SLC last because it's small and in the middle of nowhere and not really known for anything except the Jazz and Mormonism, which just doesn't attract me. I suppose there might be good skiing there. I may have to reconsider.

I've only been to a few places on the list. Bos, NYC, Chicago, Montreal, Orlando, Philly and that's about it.

Depends on the sport, and my rankings assumes I have no fan affiliation:

Basketball
1) L.A. (again, assuming I didn't hate them with a passion, the weather is awesome and the hollywood chicks)
2) Miami (Weather, nightlife)
3) New York (nightlife)

Baseball

1) Boston - energy every night
2) New York - energy every night
3) St. Louis - knowledgable fans, I'd hit .400 because the NL sucks

Football

1) Los Angeles (they'll get a team again.  Weather)
2) Miami (weather in winter and nightlife, although training camps would be brutal)
3) Dallas

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
orlando

Speaking of Orlando (where I live now), they are re-doing the Citrus Bowl and there is talk of the Jaguars possibly playing a couple of games there (because of low attendance in Jax). It sure would be interesting, as this is a lot more lively than I ever thought it would be.

Anyway, I am all about the warm weather cities (just moved from Boston), but I love northern cities, so will go with Orlando, Montreal, San Diego, DC, and Boston as my top five.

And, Oklahoma City, Detroit, Kansas City, Buffalo, and Edmonton as my bottom five.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Where the weathers warm and there's a night life.

Unfortunately that immediately puts LA uptop.

The housing market is nuts down here. That is one of the main reasons I recently chose to leave New England and come here. While there are definitely good deals on houses, condos are going left and right for next to nothing. My friend and I already have bought two and are ready to rent one. I guess there is almost no lending for condos right now, causing the discrepancy in prices...either way, I am sure I will appreciate it much more down here in a couple of months...and yes, I definitely love the theme parks  ;D

EDIT: If Vancouver still had a team, they'd be my #1 option. There is nothing..NOTHING not to like about Vancouver.

High price of real estate?
That's about all I can think of...
Wouldn't mind living there myself.
Celtics fan for life.

I think if it was football, I'd want maybe Baltimore or Seattle.

Basketball I'd want Boston first, then it would be probably Dallas, Portland, Houston, Denver, in that order

I assume they have a hockey team in Vancouver

I'm surprised there isn't a poll attached to this topic! It's quite easy really, I would play for Boston without a shadow of a doubt. And that's simply because I've been personally invested in this team for so long haha.

I couldn't figure out how to make this a poll. Maybe you should give it a shot

Boston is "The City of Champions". Why wouldn't an athlete want to come to Boston and be apart of the most historical sports city and most loyal diehard fans.
