I just thought it was worth a read. I agree with the author though, to me, jeter is not any kind of "clear cut" MVP choice.

IF he wins it, so be it, but if we are going to go by just numbers and value to his team, he shouldn't.

now, If you want to give it to him as a lifetime achievement award, and to make up for 2006 when he absolutely got jobbed, i can understand that one.

ugh, if Jeter gets the MVP award (which I unfortunately think is possible) it will further prove that awards mean nothing.  Joe Mauer is having a significantly better season in just abuot every statistical category (including wnis above replacement - which would show value).

Just like Jeter winning gold gloves, the award would be given to the popular name rather then to the deserving player.

It's not so bad, the only thing he blew for comedic purposes was the "N/A" gimmick, went to the well to many times with that in the middle of the breakdown.
