I would have taken that bet.  There's people out there that think Doc doesn't play youth besides a volume of posters on this blog.

This will be the first real chance to determine Doc's skills at evaluating young talent.  If Doc was correct in judging Pruitt unable to play in the NBA or if Doc missed the boat on a serviceable player will be on display in NY.

Pruitt's the first young player cut loose that didn't get much court time so we'll see how Pruitt pans out in another location under different management.

Pruit has a nice 3 point stroke, but needs to work on a quicker release like Ray and Eddie. He is limited as a PG due to his tentative nature. He actually has a decent handle.  Too young to give up on, although I totally get why a veteran team like ours has no present use for him.

if royal ivey can play in the league, so can gabe. he's good good size, a solid handle and range. he's likely limited by his passive attitude but those who doubt his talent level are missing the point. he'll have plenty of opportunity on a JV knicks team to show if he can gain the confidence to become a true rotation player.

This might have less to do with talent than the fact that Pruitt got that DUI last year and never really played after that.  I though he played OK in the time he got before that when paired with House. He could fit in with Mike D'Antoni's system.

TP, I agree. Doc gave him an opportunity of a lifetime to make a name of himself, and contribute for a championship team. But he failed. Talent is there. He needs an overhaul of his passive nature, and become a leader. Probably asking too much.

He's got some raw ability so it's not very surprising although he may never actually be a PG.  Hopefully he can get some run in NY because he had no chance in Boston.
