You guys are a little too absorbed in this blog. Tommy Point Giving doesn't need a "Philosophy". Nor does it merit an internet duel.
Personally, I'm a believer that everybody has a philosophy about everything. Unless you do things or just make decisions based on "just cuz" then you have a philosophy. I do things I do and make decisions the way I do because I have a philosophy, an ideology, a reasoning behind them.
I'm not sure because I have a certain philosophy about why I do something that that means I'm too absorbed in something. I have a philosophy of following rules, it doesn't I'm too absorbed in law or righteousness.
Following the law and giving out Tommy Points on an internet blog aren't really on the same scale of seriousness. One is also mandatory. I don't really feel the need to get principled about trivial stuff. I'm a big picture guy.
While I don't necessarily agree with you, I can see where some might see things that way.
I will say this. I consider myself a big picture person too. But both my personal and professional life have taught me that to have the best big picture possible, then one has to have a definite philosophy on everything, even the mundane and trivial things because if you don't have definitive ways to do or have an opinion on doing even the smallest most insignificant of details and things, then they tend to get out of control and ruin the big picture.
So, for that reason I bring an opinion, a philosophy, a definitive way about doing most anything. Even giving out Tommy Points. I have an opinion on those things and as most can attest to here, I will express that opinion, whether it is popular or not or whether it is wanted or not.
