what do you call a thread that gets locked for no reason?

the this thread is locked thread

ahahahaha

ps, there are so many threads that serve no purpose here; I've started about half of them...to lock that one was just silly, sorry for voicing my opinion

If you have a problem with the way we lock threads, bring it up in the "comments & remarks" forum or look over the posting rules about starting a new thread.

ok, locking that thread was useless...it had a chance to develop into something beautiful and different, but instead it's fluttering was stomped out before it could even have an inch of life

http://forums.celticsblog.com/index.php?topic=32919.msg613418;topicseen#new

like really...have you never read super off topic off topic, or bunnies, or squirrels? no point to them, but everyone enjoys them...well most everyone I assume
You've had some great, quirk, fun threads my dino loving friend but that would not have been one of them.

I actually respect you nick, but if you don't let so mething develop, how do you know?

Let's put it this way: thread that is completely random, that promotes discussiong = good.  Thread named after something that has been a major complaint by certain members of the blog, with no direction = bad.

I am not saying you had bad intentions with it, but I am saying that because of the name of the thread, it would have turned into a place for people to complain about the blog, and that did not belong on that forum.

I see it as more of a back alley kind of thread, where people can go who are in the know...the invisible thread per se...I wasn't attempting to be malicious, though am a little unhappy that it wasn't given a quarter of a chance

I understand you weren't being malicious.  That is why the thread was simply locked.  But the thread was not going anywhere good.  All of the staff who have looked at it came to the same conclusion independently.  If you don't agree with that, I am sorry, but you will just have to trust us, because we are the ones who would have to clean up the mess that it would cause.

C'mon, you've been around this blog long enough to know what gets a thread locked and not.  Its not rocket science and we have posting guidelines that explicitly outline these things.

I don't see how the heck a thread that's simply titled "this thread is locked" and only contains the statement "but its not...now we can talk secretly and no one will know" provides any worthiness for dicussion.  It was a pretty cut and dry decision on my part to lock the thread as evidenced by my pointing out of the posting guideline.

Now, if there is another, more prominent issue you have with staff or the blog, you shouldn't need to dance around it or use something like "locking" to vent your frustration, just come out with it.  This is the forum to do it.

Mods talk about being respectful...

Do you think calling TA...Good TA & Bad TA is respectful?

Do as I say not as I do?

Be consistent and follow your own rules.

Posters are expected to be respectful when interacting with one another.  However, they do not owe any duty to bite their tongue when criticizing Celtics players.  It would be an awfully boring blog if members could only say good things about NBA players.

If you can't whine about the celtics or criticize players here, where can you do it?

At least you never said a disparaging word about Gerald Green.

Look closer.  There is plenty of examples of "non Mods" saying the same thing about TA.  They are not breaking the rules either.

There are posters saying negative things about Wallace, Rondo, Scali, Ray, KG...

None of them are breaking the rules.

We are here to discuss the Celtics.  The good.  The bad.  The boneheaded.

What on earth is disrespectful in saying that sometimes Good Tony shows up, and sometimes Bad Tony does?  The guy has extreme ups and downs.  That's who he is as a player, love him or hate him.

 :-\

Can you please bring an example other than the good TA or the bad TA.

Gerald Green stinks
Scal is slow
Gasol is ugly ( well this is indeed disrespectfull)
Gerald green have no brains ( this isnt because is about bkb IQ)

this is like everydays bread in a blog
Its critizicing his abilities as bkb players
theres nothing about personal respect

Again..

Scal is a super human being with great personality and super locker guy
But playing basketball he stinks.

wow...i guess you can be selective with being respectful...we need to respect the people on Celtics Blog but not the Celtics themselves...that is called a double standard...

So, how much time do you think most would spend talking about the Celtics if all we ever did was wax poetically about how great the Celtics and everyone on the Celtics are?

Most of us are on here to talk about the realities of the Celtics.  Luckily, most of that right now is good.
