Bring on some games!  Still two months to go.

We're bringing on #18 in this year people.

Get ready!

    GOCELTS!
I'm excited for this season.  I think it's going to be historically great.  Am I just setting myself up for disappointment?

I can't fully quantify why, I just think we're going to see the closest we're ever going to see to Perk & Rondo (aka the future) & The Big 3 (the fading present) at their peak levels as their ships pass each other in the sea of their careers.

Yup

I agree I think it'll be an exciting season. Two whole months!! If I wasn't so distracted waiting for a doping scandal to break out in tennis I don't know how I'd be surviving.

This made me sad  :'(
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

I'm not saying it's going to horrendous after this season, just saying, this should be the peak.

Turn that frown upside son  ;D

Have a lollipop.  Enjoy!

I too, am gearing up for a humongous Celtics campaign, the likes of which have not been seen since 1986, I mean 2008.

For the record, the Celtics of 2009 were better than the Celtics of 2008 if you factor out the injuries.

Now adding Rasheed, Marquis, and Sheldon Williams and possibly getting Carlos Arroyo for the backup PG, I think we can have a special year.
Wins are few, times are hard. Here is your bleeping St Patricks Day Card.

I know it's a little early for the rally cry, but I've been feeling since the Chicago series.

Like, you have no idea.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

To me it's all about health. Because of their age there's always that chance that we go through a bunch of injuries. BUt if healthy, I expect nothing less than a fantastic season and at least an ECF appearance.

72-10 record, here we come! 8)

Seriously though, I do agree that this season will probably be historical but I'd rather have historical playoffs (16-0? ;D) than regular season.

Bumping this up, because I'm starting to see a lot of what I was hoping for below.  I think the starting five is going to continue to improve.  Perk & Rondo at near the top of the there game, and the big 3 are playing at a pretty high level.

I just think we're going to see the closest we're ever going to see to Perk & Rondo (aka the future) & The Big 3 (the fading present) at their peak levels as their ships pass each other in the sea of their careers.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
TP, looks like you were on the money with that one. Rondo and Perk are having a great year so far, but I'm expecting even more from Rondo. I'm also expecting KG to keep getting closer to his 08-09 form.  This team hasn't even come close to hitting it's stride yet... I can't wait to see when that happens when it does.

Since we are on a roll with the good vibes, I hope this link to this youtube video works. It's from the 2007-2008 season, so it has Powe, Cassell and Posey in it, but it's still a great "Rallying Cry" video, I think.

If this link doesn't work for some reason, just type in "Celtics mix Fundamentum" in the youtube browser and that should take you to it. The video is 5:57 secs long.

I also get a little nostalgic looking back at Rondo and Perk from two yrs ago, and how much they've improved since. And I'm also glad that Glen Davis, Scal, Eddie and TA are still with us.

Enjoy!

Lots of things to look back on as the Celts appear poised to make it to their 21st NBA Finals.

I made this post last summer, expecting to see the type of stuff we're seeing now all season long (like we did in 2008, but maybe even better).  It didn't exactly work out that way (though take a look at the December post when things were looking rosy).

Perk faded a bit, but Rondo has progressed past our wildest dreams.  I think the thing I hadn't anticipated was the level with which the Celtics would use their brains and will to push the front runners into submission.

All's well that ends well.

An absolutely amazing transition over the past few weeks.  I have a healthy respect for the Lakers, but much like in 2008, I feel like no one is going to beat the Celtics if they play their game, and keep their focus.  They are so locked in right now, I have a hard time believing it will take anything short of the Lakers truest effort to beat us.

Bring on the FINALS!

Let's get this fourth win first. As has always been said the fourth is the hardest. All that being said, I do feel very good right now. Like you said, this is what we expected when this team was constructed in the offseason.
