Players Over/Underrated on the Blog

A lot of people are mentioning Perk/Rondo. I don't think they're underated by CBers, which was the question.

I think Kobe, Vince Carter, and Pau Gasol are under rated by this board.

Honestly I think there are a lot of guys that fall under both categories on here.

And in fairness I think the most underrated player on this blog is hands down Kobe Bryant, just because we hate the guy so much and don't want to give him jack for credit.

It's a safe bet to say Tony Allen is underrated on this board, just because the majority of the board deems him 100% useless.  He's only 99.9% useless.

I agree with the assessments that Grainger is overrated and I would even put Durant in that category until he shows he can do other things consistently other than score.

As for underrated here, how about Scals.  I take jabs at the guy just like most of us, but to imply that the average CBer could go out and do better than him is ludicrous.  Scal is a solid defender when put in situations that are reasonable and he is a very good spot up shooter.

I can't believe I just took up for Scals, but there you go.

I realize we are talking about professional athletes and that the standards on this board are pretty high. I sometimes wonder if people really respect the skill level and efforts of a many of the athletes that are mentioned. Mikki Moore went from being a good pickup to being scum of the earth. I just don't get it. He did exactly what everyone said he would do and just because he played to our (low) expectations he was demonized.

After suffering through the pre-big three years I have learned a lot about what it takes to be a championship team. It is actually something I hope my kids can appreciate. Is remarkable the dedication effort and attention to detail that some of these guy have.

I know this will be a very unpopular position, and he is one of my favorite players, but I feel that Powe is over rated here.  People have been very upset that he wasn't given a guaranteed spot in our lineup this year despite his injury and despite the fact that we are seriously going after another championship.  I would have loved to have had him back only after he had rehabbed successfully.

My choice for most underratted has to be Perk.

Overrated: Andres Nocioni ... for an offensive blackhole who doesn't involve his teammates, play good defense, and makes a ton of money; a lot of people seem to want him for some reason.
