I had this poll idea after reacting to Jeff's post on the frontpage, about the power rankings. Feel free to explain your choice.

Personnally, I have to go with the Celtics vs Spurs. I think their team is like a mirror of ours, since there are many similiraties between the players, and I would just love to see the following duels on the court :

- Rondo vs Parker : #9 vs #9. Both can't shoot (well, Parker has the advantage there over Rondo, but still), but they use their quickness and driving abilities to the best. A lightning speed matchup.

- Ray vs Ginobili : they don't play in the same ways, but both are great shooters and clutch players. See them fight over and over in crunch time would be awesome.

- Pierce vs Jefferson : two great scorers, both with multiple talents. Pierce would have the advantage I think but still an interesting matchup.

- KG vs TD : the best PF's of the last 20 years, against each other.

- I know Perkins should be there but imagine a matchup of Sheed vs McDyess : old friends/teammates going against each other for the title.

These two teams also have a reputation of playing physical, never give up, and being defensive first (though the Spurs downgraded in that area last season).

Almost all the players are evenly matched, and that's why I think it would be awesome Finals to watchs, since it would be very close. Not flashy but basketball at its finest.

Plus, the bench is quite similar too :

House vs Mason, both trigger happy and deadly shooters.
Big Baby vs Blair. Scal vs Bonner, the redheaded fight of the decade. :o

Your turn to choose your favorite Finals matchup! :)

Tough choice between playing the Spurs or the Lakers.

Beating Timmy in the finals would be sweet justice for the draft injustice and those titles we missed out on but beating the Lakers is just a joyously gratifying experience---particularly the part where Kobe is denied his glory and he just pouts about losing.  I'd have to give the nod to playing and beating the Lakers based on the Kobe-suffering factor.

Celtics vs Lakers, and it is not even close.

In alternate reality land, I wouldn't mind seeing the Knicks become a West Coast team, having them magically advance to the Finals, and then being crushed by the Celtics.  But again, that would be a far second to watching Cs Vs. Lakers.
Celtics fan for life.

I really respect the Spurs, so I'd love to see that matchup.  Although, really, I'd love to see it be some terrible team that just goes on a miraculous run in the West, but runs out of gas in the Finals. ;)

I'd be happy if the Lakers never advanced beyond the 1st round again. Spurs and Celtics would be the most interesting series to me.

Yea I'd definitely like to see them play the Blazers...Since they can only win when it's 6 verse 5.  ;D

i want the Lakers...i think the mainstream media forgets just how good we were in 07-08, and that if we were healthy, we still could have beaten the lakers in a 7 game series.

plus, i love watching Kobe act like a 4 yr old after he loses, mwahaha

Actually, I thought Kobe handled that loss with a lot of class making sure he congratulated every member of the Celtics.

I just can't help but want to humiliate the Lakers every chance we get.  Why not push the Finals head to head record to 10-2?

I'd like to see a series not against the lakers, maybe win a title without the path that history has set for us.
Practice? Whatchu talkin about practice?

I want to see the Lakers just to watch all the "experts" prove they've learned absolutely nothing by picking against us again.

From a basketball perspective I'd prefer the Spurs (KG vs Duncan for 7 games  :o), but the history and chance to stick it to the Lakers again wins.
