Has anyone heard when or if NBA TV is coming to Fios?  When I ordered it in March the guide said "coming soon".  Still no NBA TV.

I might have to switch back to Comcast if they don't get it before the upcoming season.

I too have seen that same thing...I hope they have it this year, but haven't heard anything about it yet.

If they don't I'm switching to comcast as well.

How about Comcast broadcasting it in HD.  That would be nice.
God bless and good night!

I live in Vernon, CT and could have sworn I just got something in the mail with a new channel lineup showing an NBATV HD channel.  I could be wrong though.

Looking at the Channel Lineup online, I do see an NBA Team HD channel, which coudl just belong to League Pass.  I see 733 listed twice on the cable lineup online both showing NBATV. I guess we will see when the season starts.

I'm not sure if this is legit or not but here is a link to a message board that says it will be available before the start of the season.  It's from the Verizon message board.  It was posted 3 days ago so hopefully it's true.

Is Fios awful for you guys too?

We get signal interruption all the time and I was wondering if it was a bad connection or if it was Fios. After these jolts, the sound doesn't match the picture, or there is static in the sounds...just awful.

I wouldn't say awful.  It has a ton of HD channels if you get all the movie channels.

As for the signal, you have to unplug your HD box every now and then (for about a minute) to refresh or else it will start acting up.  I used to have the same thing happen with Comcast.  I don't think it's signal interruption.  If it is I would call Verizon to have them fix it.

I'm disappointed in how it was sold to me.  The first thing I asked about was NBA TV and it said "coming soon" on their channel guide.  The salesman told me the list was from September 2008 so it should be active by now.  He told me this in March 09 and still no NBA TV.  Plus he said they had way more On Demand content but they actually seem to have less.  No Howard TV.  It's still about the same as Comcast but he was telling me it was going to be about 10 times more On Demand content.

I don't hate Verizon, but I don't love it either.  The multi room DVR is pretty cool.  You can record something on your main TV and watch it later on any TV in the house.  I never have to watch John and Kate Plus 8 ever again!!

Fios stinks for NBA fans:

- Comcast Sports Net doesn't come in HD.
- No NBA TV.
- Serious menu lag.

EDIT: When I had it around a year and a half ago.

I get Comcast Sports Net in HD with FIOS.  Also no menu lag - which is way different than Comcast was for me.  Plus the auto-rewind to bring you back 3 seconds after fast forward is key.  Comcast is lame for not having that.

Comcast was much better with onDemand than FIOS is right now, but FIOS is heading down the right convergance track.  You can now access your Facebook account via FIOS, get traffic updates before you head out to work, etc.

I highly recommend Fios.

I also get Comcast Sports Net in HD with FIOS...at the beginning of last season, they only had Celtics home games in HD but that issue has been resolved.  When I first got FIOS I had some cable box lag/connection issues, but we got the faulty boxes replaced and haven't had a problem since.

I would have hoped they added NBA TV by now (they already added NHL, NFL, and MLB networks, so I am not sure what the holdup is).  They do have so many more HD channels compared to Comcast, so while Comcast commercials hype their OnDemand selection (which admittedly is much better than Fios), their HD channel lineup pales in comparison to Fios.  Especially the number of premium HD movie channels available.

Unfortunately, this is a moot point for me, I am moving from the suburbs to Brighton next week which means no more Fios for me :(  I would recommend Fios to anyone, but I admit I am not a huge OnDemand person, which could be an issue.  Also, their menu looks like an Atari game compared to Verizon's menu.  But at least I finally can see NBA TV.

Well, it appears they've made improvements since I got rid of it.  ;)

I just noticed NBA TV is FINALLY on Verizon Fios.  Not HD yet, but at least it has something.  I hope it comes in HD soon.
