Ouch. Perk has earned the right to start, and he's a much better defensive player than Rasheed. Our starting lineup already has plenty of scoring and spacing.
No need for ouch, Sheed brings a ton to the table. I think that gap between Sheed's and Perk's defense is lower than the gap in their offense, particularly how how they'll affect the unit.
Anyways, see no reason to exclude him in the poll.
I actually think KG and Sheed is a terrible combo, especially to start the game. Neither of them prefers to play in the post and Perk is a capable post player whose game fits nicely next to both of them.
They don't have to preffer it, and with both of them in there all you need to do is switch them between post and perimeter. Having Sheed in there will open up the driving lane for Rondo and Pierce, so they'll have a much easier time scoring. Having Sheed in there will allow KG to play the post without being double teamed by the other big man. If was with Scal, and with him alone our offense looked pretty much at its best (when KG was in there) and our defense didn't suffer much for it. I don't see any reason to believe that with Sheed we won't have an even better balance defensively than with Scal plus quite an upgrade offensively.
I dunno, I thought our offense looked its best when we blew the Lakers out by 30 in the NBA finals. And I don't think Perk being in the post has inhibited Rondo or Pierce's drive. And I don't want KG or Sheed at this point in their careers to do things that aren't in their wheel house.
This is not asking them them to do anything different than they're used to. KG, in our offensive system sees quite a bit in the post. In fact, usually our first pass in many of our offensive sets it's to dump the ball down to KG on the post.
Our starting unit struggle at times, particularly to start games. We play from behind quite a bit, and usually use the 3rd quarter to put our stamp in the game. There's a lot of room for improvement in our starting lineup.
And you're quite incorrect in that having Perk in there doesn't impede Rondo and Pierce's drive. Impede is a strong word, it certainly doesn't make it easy for them to do so, plus again... KG single coverage in the post will be a very good thing to have.

Anyone who thinks Perk isn't starting on this team when healthy needs to come back to earth. Rasheed is coming off the bench. WHo finishes games is the better question, and the answer is: depends on which end of the floor and who's in it.
I love it that people think Sheed over Perk to start games is so preposterous, but when thinking about the end of games they have no qualms about Sheed being in there instead of Perk.
