Here is what I can't understand.   We were told there are 104 players on the list, 83 positive tests,  some of which may be the same player tested positive more than once.   So we could for arguments sake only 50 people out of the 104 on the list that tested positive.   If this information is true then David Ortiz can be on this list but tested negative.  It was never made clear if he tested or positive or not just that he was on this list right?   But what I can't understand is why are the players that tested negative are on this list in the first place.  Am I missing something???

Pretty sure everyone on the list tested positive for some kind of PED.  The only distinction is some of them (only a few, I think) tested positive for something other than steroids.  So we know Ortiz tested positive for something but don't know what.  His response has made it pretty clear it was steroids, though.

I only believe him in the sense that I think he might've told his trainers/suppliers "I don't want to know what you're giving me, just make me better."  That makes him just as guilty in my book, though.

People still care about integrity in baseball? Like the majority, he took performance enhancing substances...like the majority, he refuses to admit it.

Really, sports are about entertainment. Was the steroid era entertaining? I think so. Morals and sportsmanship are just a facade to the greed and egos in the world of entertainment. He should really just admit it, take the media induced beatdown for 2 weeks and then move on from it.

I don't fault people for taking steroids when they help potential earnings. The physical and thus perceived mental edge that steroids give could be the difference between being a career call-up guy and being a powerful bat in the middle of the order. People like Papi probably have a huge extended family and friends that they feel obligated to take care of. It is stupid knowing the consequences down the road, but when you look at how a lot of professional athletes treat (and throw away) all the money they get, you understand that even professionals can be naive. If these athletes don't understand fiscal responsibilities, than it is not surprising that they are not fully aware of the damage steroids do (in addition to the damage it does to the youth who will do whatever it takes to make it to the majors).

To answer the poll question...yeah he did them. But it doesn't really bother me.
