With Marquis coming -- Tony, Bill & JR are just to similar--they are playing for one maybe 2 spots.  Absent a trade Giddens will have training camp to prove himself or be waived.  TA has a contract and Walker simply is bigger and stronger than Giddens, Giddens is a 2 and Walker a 2/3.  Doc saying they are even was most likely just motivation and/or a sales pitch for trading Giddens, or throwing him in in a trade.

Other than most of what I've read this summer is making Giddens the favorite over Walker, including DA's seeming reluctance to include Giddens over Walker in a trade.

I'll tell you this, DA is not just going to waive Walker or JR. TA has a contract? So does JR and Walker.

And JR is certainly a 2/3 type of player. Walker is more of 3/2, but the difference is not much, as JR is quite strong himself, a better defender, a better rebounder, and has a long wingspan.

I have a feeling TA will most likely be moved at the trade deadline. I would prefer to keep Giddens and Walker over him anyway.

I think the team needs a second established wing off the bench, especially with Daniels' injury history.

One of these three wings will have to make way to open up that roster spot ... TA is the obvious choice to leave. Just sell him off to a team below the cap = cash considerations to waive him upon arrival.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Walker and Giddens seem to be in Danny's plans for atleast the immediate future.

Giddens has seemed to impress atleast Danny during SL.

Walker at 21 is too good of a prospect to just cut.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I think we'll end up keeping 2 of the three in the short term, and 1 of the remaining two in the long term. I think it ends up being Walker.

If we let go of Giddens and TA and brought on Daniels and Powe, I'd be a happy harry. Not gonna happen but I'd be happy.

I think the bigger question is who plays behind Rondo

Who plays behind Rondo is the question--we have too many wings and even if we keep Hudson (most teams carry 3 legit points) I don't see us going into the season without a vet PG--therefore one of TA, Walker or Giddens will be gone.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it's House and I feel much more comfortable it being that way this time around having a ball handler like Daniels in the second unit verses TA or 2 years ago Posey.   I think their abilities will work well together.   If you have a traditional small PG in the end it will take away time from House because House and another small PG can be a nightmare matchup defensively for us as we have seen.

I think after 2 years of trying we know we can't go into the play-offs with Eddie as our back-up point--Marquis's ball handling will help keep Eddie on the floor but it is still risky not to have a young and an old option at point for back-up and for injury protection.

What is allen's contract? I still get bummed when I think how well he was playing two years ago before the meaningless dunk took away his athleticism.

We won a championship with Eddie as our primary backup and let's face he played better than traditional backups brought in Cassell and Marbury during the last 2 years of the playoffs.  We still have 1 roster spot open after after the Daniels and BBD signing and I think DA will go after point guard whether it's Hudson or someone else but more as insurance not to replace Eddie or to play alongside him.

we still have roster space, how do we not have "any room"?

the big issue was nobody behind Pierce all last year, now we don't have room... come on.

I think we need 3 legit Pg's -keep Hudson and pick-up a Vet PG-- with Daniels as  PP's back-up a PG fills our needs better than keeping TA, Walker and Giddens.
